View Full Version : Oversteer problem on my tuned Supra on GT4

I was tuning my new Supra on the test course, and I noticed that the Supra tends to oversteer slightly on the test course. Having that problem, I added a 2-way LSD, tuned the ASM oversteer to 12, and increased the TCS. It still did a little oversteer. To counter that, I pressed the right button on the D-pad a little, but then I have to press left again to counter that, then resulting in a spinout. I'm tired of the spinouts and I want it fixed now, but I can't pinpoint the problem. Somebody please help!

(NOTE: This problem occurs on the test course at 240 MPH and up)

just throw the controller at the wall in anger, that always helps.

I did that already in a fighting game. I had to buy a new controller. Back to the topic.....

I hope your running on Racing Soft tires..Super Softs tend to skip a lil bit around corners..

Get a 1.5 way LSD, turn off ASM oversteer and TCS (and ASM understeer if you've got it on).

I'll try the suggestions right now.....

Sadly, your suggestions didn't affect the Supra much. It still oversteers. Maybe it's the suspension I tuned. It's height is lowered as much as possible, and all the suspension settings are very stiff.....

What's your damper setting? Maybe tone down the spring rate a bit and have about F/.6 R/.3 for the camber.
What I do is fiddle with one setting at a time, so I can eliminate possible causes and narrow it down.

Try making your car more stable by increasing the downforce al lot on the back...if you a have problems to the front too than increase downforce also to the front. But for that reason your max speed will decrease!
In my opinion is better having a stable car on track than having one really fast without control!! :)

I'm guessing you should soften the spring rate in the back. I'm not quite sure. I don't usually use supras.

I'm guessing this is a Mk.IV

Off topic: The only "handable" Mk.IV tune is for around 300 - 340ish kW

Yeah, anyhoo. I remember trying to get a top speed run and it would just spin out. I tried adding downforce but that just made it jerky and taut. I gave up eventually. I just can't remember if I fixed it...

When you said "dampers", do you mean the shock absorber? I have the "Original" suspension installed. The Shock Absorber setting is at 10 both Front and Rear. The camber settings worked a little, but not very effective.

The downforce thing worked out, but the maximum speed goes down.

Ummm, My Supra has over 800HP..... What's the formula for kW to HP?.....

If I'm not wrong...800 hp / 1,3 = 615,... kW

I've got a suggestion.. SELL THE CAR. Its a Supra.. a fatty car with too much RWD power. Get something with a little less weight and a little more grip.

No matter how much you change it, it still weighs as much as a Balooga whale and has enough power to throw one around.

Does anyone else use the Mk.III's on GT4?

I love em, they just need a little lighweight work done and they stick to the road like glue.

I have a black 3.0L T and two Twin Turbo R's. A black one and a burgundy one. I swear I did the best two laps of drifting ever in my Burgundy Mk.III.

Special Stage Route 5, Burgundy, the chrome WORK wheels look-alikes, the pop-ups and the yellow foggies in the dark looked awesome.

I have around 260kW with lightweight stage 2 and lot's of other goodies too.
