90 threads isn't enough to thread a poper result. - GT4 for me. I have never tried Forza. But that they are pronouncing it "Fort'sa!" on TV, is enough to make me never buy it.

GT4 :PThe Xbox is actually owning PS2. Better grafic engine, and the hard disc is owning the 8mb memory card big time, not to mention the engine sound, where the Xbox is a silent S Class and the PS2 is an old Mitsubishi with holes in the exhaust, and four gears.

But i still like the PS2 better. - Becase of the games in general. And the controlers is also better.

What? Why aren't you saying "prawned" any more?Prawned is modern. I guess it was made in 2005.
"Owned - big time" sounds like something from the 80's. lol, i hate modern cars.:D

Does GT4 have the same "wide-angle" lens view ("objects on screen, such as your braking point, are closer than they appear") as GT3? If so, it is likely that it would be preferred over Forza by gamers who have never actually driven a car. Read this:

http://www.popsci.com/popsci/automotivetech/060c1196aeb84010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd .html

It took the REAL race driver 20 minutes to slaughter the experienced gamer. Forza rules. That said, my weekly foursome often plays XBOX Toca because we can get away with more shiat.

PS. Myself and 2 others got a Pelican Cobra TT wheel for XMAS. We are cursing less than we were a week ago; but we're still not as fast as with hand controllers w/triggers. I used some 36 grit psa sandpaper on the bottom, and 180 grit on the pedals. Big improvement.

GT4 suffers from not having a harddrive on the ps2

This results in a lot of things failing which are available in Forza.
In forza cars drift a bit too soon, in GT4 they break out far too late.

Basically I like forza better since the driving is a bit more realistic, taken into account that cars start with worn out tires...

(read the article posted by stevefx. Would be interesting ot see what those same people think of GT4)

Admit it. None of them are realistic on those crappy machines. Driving 24 hours at Circuit De La Sarthe with the same afternoon-light all the time. Not to mention that you have to change super-hard tires each 30 minute. Seiji Ara was pushing the hardest tires at Le Mans 2004 to the limt, for 2½ hours.
Six cars at the grid is very shitty too.
Six cars, and constat aternoon is the worst things! - No wonder Pescarolo got owned since they used that game for training... And yeah. One more thing. Tom kristensen himself mentioned that the downforce makes the car more easy at hight speeds. In GT4 the steering wheel is all crazy at 320 km/h.
Pffff!

Of course none of those are realistic because they are missing a few essentials to be realistic. For instance, there is no real car.
You miss ot on roughly 2000-3000 lbs of inertia.
Since there is no inertia or actual movement there are no noticable G forces.

ok, I do admit that at least from the XBOX could be expected that actual day and night times would be implemented in the game.
That would be an improvement over the current game.

I think Tom Kristensen basically meant that without downforce the cars would be flying saucers and he'd be right.
Driving any kind of vehicle at 320 kph is supposed to be difficult since it's considerably above walking speed which humans adapted to in 150.000 years of darwinistic attempts to gain higher intellect.

Humans in their current state are not able to drive cars that don't touch the ground with wheels intended to steer the thing.

Now tommy, I'm not ranting against you personally but I'm really getting sick of people complaining that games are not realistic.
Of course they are not!
You're not in a car!

Downforce just is a means to keep cars at the ground at speeds they race at nowadays. They are nowehere comparable to powersteering or ABS which are intended to make life easier. They are pretty much essential in certain circumstances.

as said, nothing personal against you.
Just that I see the same kind of argument over and over again.
People discussing, nearly bashing each others heads in with clubs (how evolved is that?), about which of two games is the realistic one and which is not.

Kind of starts acting as a red cloth in front of my eyes (and I don't like red)

(might help that I actually collected all my wits in an attempt to get me a new GF and she turns out not to be here today. Just my luck again :-k )

As for the comparison, I like forza better. Let's stick to personal taste (it has more options available to recreate my own beloved FC)
