Frame rails are bad....fiberglass isnt that bad..needs front/rear bumper covers...has some paint chipping...i drove this car 120 miles at 70 mph on the interstate to get it home when i bought it for $3000...of course i didnt know about the frame problem at that time or i wouldnt have done that.

I wouldnt invest 2700 in that, it needs alot more than 2700 worth of repair, not worth it to me...
then again im a 17 yr old working my ass off for 7/hour...

I wouldn't mind doing it, take me a few weeks and just give it to my sister but I don't have the time right now.. For further notice when you buy a sports car always look under the car. How are the suspension pieces.. I have a buddy who likes old vettes. If I were you, I would just buy some aircraft steel and learn how to weld, fix the car and then sell it for 15-25 grand. I have a 1950 Fleetline I may or may not fix I just need the steel, a roof, and glass.

I just happened to have a coppy of vette-n-vestments price guide sitting within arms reach as I read this thread. A 1975 corvette in number 4 condition (in need of full restoration) is base valued at $5,600 for a t top model. Corvette magazine has listings for a couple of different companies that make replacement and custom frames for C3 vettes, and even one company that will build a new Z06 chassis to go under your old body.
This car had a 7% gain in value last year alone, but is one of the lowest valued corvettes on the market. It is a great platform for someone looking for a hobby car
There are better deals out there though. I bought my 81 last summer for $2,500 cash. It needed a new battery, gas, and a new front tire to be driveable.
