I love cars for the way they look and for their sound. Plus I really enjoy driving. I learnt mainly from magazines in the past but now I generally use Internet (it's free:) )

It's the sound that gets me, especially a sweet RB26.
I've mostly learnt from my dad and brother, but my knowledge of cars has now far eclipsed them.

I was about 13 when I first developed a passion for cars. It started when I first played Gran Turismo. At the time, there was no other game like it and the ability to customize your vehicle's perfomance just delighted me. And when I bought my first Viper in the game I fell in love with it. The NSX was also one of my favorites. Since then I've been a car enthusiasts, and I'm working on saving up money to buy a car soon. I'll hopefully have one within the next year.

Not necessarily. Having a passion for something usually implies that the feelings go a step further than just love. It is hard to explain, so I'll just give examples. You may love pizza, and you may love your family members, but you usually dont have a passion for them. You may love cars and you may love your wife (you should love your wife) and you may also have a passion for them. The best way I can describe passion would be a burning love or a burning desire for something or someone.

The exotic or performance cars. When I say performace I mean car's like the S2000, Nissan Z cars and up.
I started getting instrted from a year 6 project where I had to spend 5million pretend $. I bought a copy of Wheels because it had an artical on the Murci Roadster.
I read the artical and wanted to know more about Lamborghinis so I looked them up and I found out more and started looking at cars in genral.
This happend a year and a bit ago so thats why I don't know as much as others on the Forum.

I could tell you why I love cars and how I came about loving them, but I doubt most of you are not mature enough to take what I'd say seriously.
So, I'll just say what everyone else says. I fell in love with cars cause of fast and furious. I love skylines and I love the sound of turbos and blow off valves. I like Ferrari's and Lamborghinis cause they're fast and they look cool. American cars are bad cause they only go straight and they use alot of gas cause they only make V-8's, so I don't like them.

Driving is why I love cars. I have a passion for driving and when asked what my favortie sport is, I say driving. Being able to get behind the wheel and control something of that size with ease and precision is like nothing else. The feel through a bend, the feeling of being pushed back in the seat when accelerating, the feeling of coming out of a bend, just barely hanging on to it, then putting it to the floor and ripping through the gears until another bend is what I like about cars.
Besides that, the beauty of a car, the magnificence of an engine and how gracefully they work. Its not so much sight as the whole concept of a car is baffeling. And thats why I like them.

I was passionat about cars ever since I knew what a car actually was
So basically from when I was 3 years old
but I never looked at the performance, I only looked at the design of the cars, the exterior
I only got more interested by specs from my 16
I always liked european cars the most, maybe because I grew up with them, my favourite brand was Audi
now it's BMW and Mercedes
I was always a Porsche fan, that never changed

I use to love European exotics when I was younger, but now every time i see a Ferrari its just another rare car on the road. Now I'm really more interested in the auto industry as a whole not just one car or one company. The technology in automobiles is amazing too, its only been 10 years and cars are made safer than they were back then. I LOVE CARS :)

I started loving cars when I just turned 16.
My 2 of my cousins are car enthusiasts and kept on talking about cars with me that year
My aunt gave me a model of a Porsche Carrera that year too.
I had nothing to watch that year during TV, so I watched car shows that year too.
My friend is the ultimate car enthusiast (I thought he was weird and too obsessed, but not anymore) so I just started to talk to him about the basic stuff about cars that year.
My friend also lent me Initial D that year.
I also got into GT4 that year because all of my friends were playing it.
After a wide exposure to cars, I finally realized that I had turned into a car enthusiast.
I got really into the technical stuff about cars and I basically spent every day reading stuff. (I knew more about technical stuff than car makes LOL) (eg. I didn't know what 1/2 the cars that passed by were)
I watched Best motoring.
My interest in cars just kept growing that year.
From the first moment untill now I never stopped thinking about cars for a day. (Maybe once when I got sick)

If you dislike American V8s and associated cars, why pick the name you did? Just like the image?
To stay on topic, there was really never a point I can remember that I wasn't in to cars. The various classic iron I grew up around probably was what got me started. Later in life the thrill of competition and rivalry solidified my passion for this hobby. The pre-80s classics are just so beautiful; reflections back to a simpler time. Being a methodical individual, I love engines as much as the cars themselves.

I first got interested when I laid eyes on my uncle's Audi 80 when I was about 3 or so. Sure, for some of you guys, it might not anything special, but when you were born and raised in South Korea in the early-90's, where 99.9% of cars in the South Korean car market were made by local producers (read Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo), seeing a European, heck, a foreign-made car was something to gasp about. And growing up with the accepted social pyramid, where the foreign brands are placed on a higher mantle, and being automatically associated with rich people, you can begin to understand why the Audi 80 had such an effect on me. Now, when I moved to Australia not long after, the difference in the auto-landscape was just like nothing I had experienced. I was bombarded with cars I could have only dreamed of seeing and people acting so nonchalantly about it. BMW, MB, Porsche - those kind of cars were normal everyday things as soon as I had moved to Australia. So I did what any guy would do, go on the internet and look for stuff.
And so began my love for cars. With my uncle's humble Audi 80.

-Began when I was young, my dad was a car salesman and mechanic, my grandad was a salesman and GM rep, and my cousin was a ford dealer. All they used to do was talk about cars-mainly australian but my grandad was the Australian General Motors Represntative so American cars mainly pontiac and chev were discussed to.
It really took off though when i got a car.

I love the sound of blow off valves too, its as if a car has a respiratory system like the human body, but no half as complicated. :). I have a passion for cars too, when i see an expensive car on the road i get a chill down my spine, i have yet to see a 550 Maranello on the road, when i do i will drool, literally. I love that car.

Yeah, this thread has been done before, and last time both of us, he and I, had "poured" it all out, people were immature and went, "LOLZ".
Grow up.
What got me in love with cars? Same as Mopar, or I remember he said, "Viper GTS".
Blue with white stripes.
What keeps me in love with them? Passion. Simple as that.

Thank you.
The reason I love cars is because I think they're all beautiful. Every single car made has it's own personality, it's own little quirk. They all have a soul, and a character. I never looked at them as machines. They're human just like you and me.
The on car that got me into cars was a 1:24 scale diecast Viper GTS. I look back on it, and I see it as fate. I'm sure some of you have heard the story. It was right after my 10th or 11th birthday, and I had like, $15 from my aunt to spend. So I went to the toy store, looking for action figures or legos. What I came across was the previously mentioned model. Just that one choice changed my entire life. From then on I was fascinated with a car. Everyday I'd look at it and find out as much as I could about it. I asked my dad just about every question I could think of. I was hooked. I started collecting diecast models and books. I read and read and read. I subscribed to magazines and such.
And now I'm here. I've come from thinking that a car is just something to get around to thinking cars are living, breathing works of art.

Mopar, I was hoping to finally hear a real answer from you. Ghalos as well. That was great. I do remember the Viper being the first car that I actually took notice of and thought was really cool when I was little, but it never went much further than really liking the car. Then I heard about the Dodge Venom... I didnt even know if it was a real car or not when I heard about it when I was young, but those two cars kept me attached enough to cars that when I started driving and wanting to know more about them I was already a little bit of an enthusist.

My turn now....
I was raised in a car dealership. My dad was a Chev - Olds dealer and a die hard performance car fan. I was at the dealership regularly watching everything... Dad was street racing with someone every week and sometimes many times a week. He was THE man to beat in the county. For most of these races I was sitting besides and I would lean and watch the speedo and tell him the numbers. I was not happy until I saw at least 150mph ! I should say that he was, most of the time, driving a 427 Corvette. When I was there he NEVER lost to anybody !When I was younger it was his 63 Chevy Impala SS 409 convertible that attracted me the most... At age 11 I started filling new car orders for the dealership, deciding colors, options and all...
Now are you surprised that I began racing at 17 ?
