Anything done under the hood by you will void warrenty. And if the part is not aprovded at the dealership to be on the car(Not many are). Policies differ at dealerships the best thing to do would go into the shop behind the showroom. Where the machnics work and ask one of them.
I work at a dealership

How would they know? I mean if My tranny broke, and I took the kit off and sent it to tha dealership, they couldn't find out. Same crap with insurance companies.

any mod to your car which is not approved by the manufacturer will void the warrenty on that part, and the part it is directly connected to and / or any parts it directly affects.
Similarly, where I work we make our own kits for Lotus cars, although not genuine Lotus upgrades, they do not void the warrenty for 2 reasons, 1 because we cover the warrenty factor of those parts, but also because we are Lotuses most influential dealer, and have a good relation about our own parts.
and they can tell, they know the standard faults on cars, and modded parts can cause different damage/time periods to damage, even if you replaced all the original parts, its often hard to hide it.

But insurance companies know crap... if you get damaged, they ask you to pay them the deductible, they tell you to send the car to a dealership, and you gotta give them the receipt that you paid it. ( not that simple but close )

But A tech (me) Would now if anything was done. All work that is done on your car by dealership Is put on computer by vin. The insurance & warrenty companies go on what the techs say. So if something was done to it that was not in the computer the warrety is voided

I am sure there are like 200 chaldean repair shops that will do whatever i want them to for like 30dollars over... around here, its like FULL!!! there is this party shoppe called Wally's where we used to buy 40s and cigs and stuff. he dont give a crap how old you are.

But if any other shop including the one you are talking about does any work on it warrenty in voided. So then if you motor explodes(VERY rare but does happen) or you need a recall done. Instead of it being free it'll cost you out the wazzoo.

Even if you take it off, i heard that there are things that can let the techs no that u took it off. Like if you take the clutch out put a high performance clutch in then before you take for service you put the old clutch in. I guess there are some stupid little plastic clips that break and you can't replace them so you get caught and then you pay money.

also the wear on the engine/clutch for the given service mileage is a giveaway too
also taking the car on the racetrack voids all warrenty completely, and yes, it really is easy to tell if the car has been on the circuit
