Maybe if he had avoided to rice out that Mustang the Katrina might have let him go.
Was his car outside?

All he did to his car was a faceplate radio, V6 spoiler, dual exhaust... how is that "ricing it out"?
And it was inside of a big shop, 2 steel doors bolted locked.
Across the street from my girlfriends house...

at least his car probably still runs. I saw cars filled up with water. Completely sunk. Imagine the engine and the electicals. And the intake and the radiator and the exhaust and everything...

You got the preception of "ricing" totally off..this is a ricer.. http://riceboypage.com/shame/hall_of_shame_5/integraIII-type-r.jpg..having a steering wheel cover is not ricing..even if it has "ford racing" on it how do you know that he doesnt have maybe an exhaust system from ford racing, or cams, or anything for the fact. So why dont you go and find another way to be an assclown.

IMO, a RICER is anyone who just focuses on the look of the car. A RACER on the other hand, heads for the performance first, and then moves to stuff like bodykit, vinyls ( if ever ), headlights, etc etc.

Ricer is too broad of a term, Say I have an E39 BMW 5 series and replaced the headlights and tail lights with the newer "angle eye" style headlights would this be considered rice? What if I had An Acura Integra and replaced the stock rims with GSR rims would you consider that rice? What if I had a Toyota camry and wanted to replace my spoiler with a smaller lip spoiler is that rice?
Would you call me a racer if I replaced a broken throttle body on my Kia Spectra so it will run better thus improving performance.? What if I replaced my all season tires for snow tires to improve performance in winter, would you consider me a racer????
Ricer is too broad of a term to define any car.
I apologize to 02 Stang for getting offtopic in his thread.

He told me his car would cost more than its worth. From what I understand the body shop is going to pay him $2,000 for it.
And no, that won't buff right out. Poor guy now has to drive his moms old buick, OUCH... Luckily he has a good (and hot) girlfriend who is friends with mine.

i thoguht the major rule was you cannot rice a rwd or awd car. i dunno. anyway thankfully i looks like only the paint got hurt. how much water damage is there?

They classified the car as totaled because it was in there with a blown engine and now it would cost more to fix it than it is worth. The company is just going to pay him an outright $2,000 for the car instead of repairing it.

If the "poor guy having to drive a '00 Buick to and from school" warrants real sympathy, perhaps we should subtract it from the amount previously offered to 02.
Erind (E-rind?), totally immersed cars can be restored to perfect usefullness(done that). It's just not cost effective on very new cars.
If you put more than a pinstripe on a BMW E39 5er before you spend money on engine, suspension, or wheels/tires; you are a ricer, Thlam. Deal.

Sorry to point out the hole you dug yourself, but according to what you said, you can't say this is a ricer. How do you know this car isn't running serious hardware? Even if it has "Super Street" on it, what if it has gear from Super Street, or anything for that matter.

It also depends what kind of car you have, if its euro, its hard to consider someone ricing one, with the headlights, your replacing a part to make the car look better, and also help you see better at night, i dont think putting a headlight on is ricing. Just like gay graphics and spoilers on gay asian cars, and also extreme body kits.

So its only rice if its an asian car? there are plenty of VW golfs and Peugeots 206s that put many Honda Civics to shame. I agree with you that replacing headlights is not "rice," you can't really define a car as "rice" by just one body part or one subtle change it is more of a complete package that makes a car "rice."

No, thats what they will give him. He bought the car for 5,000 4 years ago so I am sure its worth about that... maybe less now? He has no idea because he can't access KBB.com down here due to the net being down, and thsi is my first time on since we returned. I'm gonna call him & see if he wants 2 use my comp I guess
