I dont know how many miles are on it due to the odometer being broken, which sounds suspicious to me, but oh well.

here the details as i know.

its a 90 bronco
miles unknown
paint job is crap
surface rust
been sitting for 2 months
interior is "ok"
enigne and tranmission is new as of 4 years ago
needs a new power steering "box" (wth?)
brakes may need fixing
asking price= $1200

so I ask, is it worth it? apparently (as I am told) the part thats needed for the power steering is only $190, brake, depends on the problem, but assuming the worst, no more than 800, assuming the least, maybe $40. paint job doesnt need to be done imediatly, but it needs to be done. rust spots must be fixed asap. since its been siting for 2 months I wonder if its infested with rats (it happens. my dads truck sat for a week after vacation and the alternator was bad, later found out during repairs that a rat had nested on the intake manifold and had biten though some wires, one of which being the feed from the alternator to the batterie. it also took some fiberglass insulation for the nest.) More questions will be asked, and inspoection will be conducted, but from what we know, is it worth it? I just want a ride, that will cost me little money from the begining regardless of gas consumtion.

oh yea, there and exhaust leak as well, simple fix, but it needs to be fixed none the less. btw, since its been sitting for a while, and it was given to this guy by his aunt, how much do you reckon I could beat him down?

Yeah, but it does it have a 9" out back.....

I'd wait for another deal...or talk him down.

The car is worth $300. The Bronco name plate is worth the extra $900. It's up to you to decide how much the namplate is worth.

I'd not get it.

Look for something like a Camry or Corolla of similar years. It'll be in MUCH better shape.
My cousin recently bought a '89 Corolla, 88k miles, no problems. $1000

ill talk him down. he just wants some free money. its been sitting there for 2 onths and you literally have to jump some ones fence to read the phone number which is hard to read even close up cuase sun fading, which makes me wonder if it actually has been sitting there for 2 months, or 2 years, and with all the crud hiding in the bug deflector, I think its been sitting for longer.

anyone know when plums become ripe enough to fall from the tree? cause there was lots of plums in the bug deflector, except there were closer to raisins when i saw em.

Do a carfax. It'll tell you about all the servicing thats been done to the vehicle. If it's actuallly been serviced regularly. www.carfax.com (Best $5 you can spend) It'll also give you an idea of the mileage. You'll need his VIN.

If you're just looking for cheap transportation, I'd get something like this:

Half the price, less problems, more reliable. For the $600 difference, you could EASILY get it in perfect running order.

Or..You can save the 5 dollars, and be a real man and go look at the vehicle yourself....

Because that will definetly tell you if it's been in a wreck, or what the mileage really is.

I have gone and seen it. doesnt look bad. everything looks good, with the exception of the fact it needs new paint, and a little bit of surface rust removed.

btw, corollas are NOT an option. I wouldnt be caught dead driving a coralla. I want to get a bronco for the 4 wheeling ability.

Yeah, it will...It's not hard to spot indicators of prior collisions, not to mention, you can check it's engine's status....Can't do that on Car Fax...
And chances are..it being a 90 bronco...Not trying to be sold for much anyway, I doubt he'd roll the odo back...or go through THAT much trouble..to make 1200 or less.

yea, but the engine is apparently only 4 years old. Im wondering how many miles it really has on it.
