I've got no idea why they are doing this. Jeff gordon can't drive on a road corse. He's used to driving in a circle. Anyone can that. This is just a big publicity stunt. I bet there are some rednecks out in Alabama ripping their posters of Jeff Gordon because he's driving a "sissy" F1 car. Yeah right, nascar sucks ass.

Apparently, racing around and around in a circle is more manlly than driving 250mph at the seat of your pants on a difficult road course. Personally, I'm more of a WRC guy. But, i certainly like F1 way better than redneck nascar. Come on, how hard could it be to drive a tube chassis with a V-8 around an oval track? A monkey could do 3/4 of that!

great response u guys!
personally i find most racing to be exciting, except for what i consider to be real redneck racing which are those dirt sliding cars with the huge roof spoiler (i think they are called sprint cars not too sure). nascar to me is exciting when it comes down to it cause of the amount of pit stops and how long they take, also the fact that the gaps between drivers during the race are so tight cause the cars are so similar which evens out the playing field. its true nascar barely does right turns cause they only have like a couple of road coarses , but its cool too see so many cars on one road coarse.
but f1 is the pinnicle of motorsports and the cars prove it. they are at the leading of technology and are way faster than the heavy winston cup car
one thing is for sure is f1 aint that big in the states and frankly i dont know why?
can it be cause they use the metric system in f1, or is it cause they have 20 men pit crews, or is it because they make right turns? what are ur guys thoughts?

i forgot!
mopar i think wrc is awesome and its pretty crazy
i think its pretty gutsy when u are going like 200 kmph on dirt and u pray that your navigator didnt say 4 gear right when its really a 3 gear left
u got to respect driving fast on the dirt , ice or rocks and trying to keep all four tires on the road
im a big subaru fan but they seriously got to improve

I follow WRC and F1. but preferance to F1.
As mopar says its the pinnicle of motorsport - for no other reason than the fact that it has the largest budget. (will a season at ferrari costing 400 million  )

F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. I'n not really interested in any dirt-or-mud-covered-road races. I'm a fan of asphalt tracks. :)

are you talking about F1 here or just ordinary cars?
If ordinary cars - the closest offical race is touring cars proabably.

Le Mans GT and GTS class is cool. They race C5R's, S-7's, Vipers, 911's, M3's, and LMP cars along with even some smaller cars such as Acura's all at the same time. The cars are fairly close to street cars. (have headlights, breaklights, original body and frame, etc) Not like Nascars which are nothing like their factory counterparts. I also like to watch the Australian Supercars. Mostly Holdens and Ford Falcons. I havent seen any races utilizing Supra's, Skylines, etc. Although they do exist.

I've seen those japanese races every once and a while. They're pretty cool. But it's nothing diffrent than the american lemans series.

WRC is one of the coolest most intesne racing I've ever seen. I'll admit this may come from it being the most aried thing I see besides NASCAR which I can never watch again or else I'll have blood shoot out of my eyes. When they DO air things Like the Le Mans series I just eat it up like crazy! MM, mm, good. I would like to see these races with the Japanese sports cars though. I ahve seen very short, mostly unhelpful atricles in a tuner magazine or two i pick up every now and then about them. I enjoy A) Variety B) Japanese cars in general anc C) seeing what a car can really do, this accented highly when thy are pitted against each other. I will start looking around the net and see if i can find anyhting helpful White-Night. BTW: I can't tell what type of car is on your Avatar, maybe my resolution is weak, which wouldn't suprise me on my 8 year old comp.

Again, ive seen those japanese car racing. It's cool to see skyline and supras and such, but it's not that interesting. It's like the american lemans series.
