This is the 911 GT1, the fastest Porsche ever. I raced in Le mans etc. Very few of these (fewer than 10) are street-legal. It's waaaay more exotic than it seems. I'll try to find the specs for you.

There isn't much of a market out there for Enzos... not many people can afford it.

That's the 911GT1 Evo, the 'normal' GT1 ( both street versions, of course.... ) has a white colour, all Evo's are like this one's.

I honestly couldn't agree more. It's the most hardcore Porsche of all time. Unfortunately, as I said, extremely few have obtained road licence.

I think I mentioned it on another topic already, but car companies need to make more cars like this. Limited super performance street legal cars. I find them sure sellers and it shows what sort of engineering and technology the company is capable of.

This version is an evo from the original 911 GT1.
And yours is the street version that Porsche produced for the probate of the race version (Mercedes did the same with the CLK-GTR, Mc Laren too with the F1 GTR,...).

The 911 GT1 Evo is probably the most extreme Porsche of all times (along with the Carrera GT that is going to debut in 2005)
Porsche also has a venerable history in Le Mans. One of the most famous models is the 917 K (long tail or short tail) which won in 1970. The 956/962 series won no less than 8 consecutive times the French race along the 80s.
The 911 GT1 programme dates back from 1993, when it was about time to replace the 962. Entire books have been written specifically about this car too.

Well, I own a Sports Car International issue (May 1999) and there was an article about the CLK-GTR. They pointed out that the official production was to be 25 but if what you are saying is true then I think that only 9 customers applied...

The Sportec 966 GT2 Could beat it though I think. 700 hp and 0-60 in less than 3.4 seconds!! I just found out about Sportec and really am impressed. They tune to the max, but still kep the cars comfortable to drive everyday. Now thats engineering I like!!!
(its like $82 thousand plus the price of the car to get it that way though)

id rather get a hennesey viper 800hp @ 5500rpm
all 300 enzo were spoken for, before they were even built, so many people could afford them, just not enough built
the CLK-GTR is also a fast as hell and rare million-dollar car & also the mclaren

Raith Cosmic green is one of my favourite colours on cars.
I usually purchase cars in cosmic green colour in GT2 when there is this colour. :wink:
