got a question, I'm just starting to learn about cars. And my mom has a 03 Dodge Stratus, it's a manual, and she bought it brand new. well she already had to replace the clutch about a year ago. well now it seems that every time we go to shift, it's gotta go all the way up to 5000 rpm before it can shift, I noticed sometimes when I drive it it will go as high as 7000, and it only went up to 3000 rpm to shift before. And it's a sports car and that car used to have "get up and go" And we're not gunning it either. sometimes I'll have it on cruise control just driving down the highway, and all of a sudden it will go all the way up to 5000 rpm, and then go back down again. I just can't figure out what the problem would be. If anybody can help me that would be great....:-k

wow man ,sounds like a serious problem, I don't know what the problem could be, maybe you should contact the dodge dealer.

Sounds like the leaver that activates the clutch has got enough throw, try shortening it.
