GRRC (Goodwood Road Racing Club) held an openday at the Goodwood Estate House today, with cars on display by GRRC members only. Not all cars were displayed, only those pre-booked, and so the secondary GRRC parking lot was, if not more, as interesting as those outside the house itself!

We took the GT1 down for the day so I took the opportunity of being there to get some pics of it, and some of the other cars on display.
I left just after lunch so other special cars probably turned up that I missed, but never mind!

Anyone know what porsche this is because i saw one about a year ago.

^ 911 930 Turbo Slant-Nose.

and chriz, its the GT1 car from 1997 that raced in LeMans against McLaren F1 and 911 GT1 etc etc and others.

Only 6 race chassis built, 1 road chassis and then 1 more, the 8th was built from spare parts. All factory built in 1996 for 1997 year.

This wasn't the Festival of speed or the Revival, they are massive 3-day events, this was just a one-off day.
They also have Breakfast club meets once a month whcih are huge, but none of these have 'sculptures'

The same way I can somehow squeeze inand out of the Elise GT1 - it is a regular Elise S1 Chassis so it is high to get in, then it has a roll cage and fixed roof that are lower than the road car, plus it has a foot of bodywork to get get over once you've escaped the small doorway, with half your body still inside the car trying to get out!!

After getting in and out of the GT1, the Exige GT3's and our Exige Cup240 with the roll cage... NEVER again will I say a car is difficult to get in or out of :p

Wouldn't have had it any other way though... it what fun real sports cars are all about... a little less practicalty :D

I have only seen a few of the cars you have. I have seen Chevrolet Corvette C5, Ford Mustang gt (55 plate with 3d Carbon Full Bodykit inc spoiler) & a audi r8 (well 2) both on holiday this year, a black one on the move & a silver demo model
