db9 for me. the bently only comes in auto and it weight something like 5050 lbs. or something. plus its styling doesnt come close tho the db9 and it isnt as fast. now it has a higher top speed of 12 mph i think, but when am i ever going to be going over 180 anyway?
good comparo tho. are you comparing these two because your dad wants one or just because?

actually, the bentley is both quicker [4.7 instead of 4.9] and faster [198 instead of 186 i think] just thought i'd point that out
it doesn't matter why i'm comparing them, would it really affect how you would rate them?

Conti for me. We need proper muscle cars that dominate the landscape yet wouldn't make the Queen blush if we through her in the boot. I also like the idea that im helping to destroy our planet unlike those Prius driving tree hugging slackers. I wonder if you can tie a whale to the front?

I'll choose the DB9. The GT is just too heavy. Maybe thats an attribute as its got PRESENCE!!!!.
I prefer the styling of the DB9 over the GT.

Hmm, that's a hard one. The sleak and sexy DB9 or the big heavy but very cool looking Conti.:-k
I've seen the Conti twice irl, and i loved the way it looks. Even better, the first time i was astonished by the way it looks. I havent seen the DB9, but im sure it looks fantastic too irl.
And there is also not much difference in performance. very hard choice.
Well, i compared them now on the Dutch Autoweek, and found out that the Conti is €30k more then the DB9.
The price plus the Conti being a lot heavier makes me choose the DB9. But its very close.

I choose the DB9.
The GT is, well... kinda ok, but it has nothing special for me.
The design ALONE of the DB9 would make me prefer it over most cars, and considering that it is also fast and cool to drive, it's a definite winner. ;)

I dont like the GT nearly as much as the aston.
The GT is ok but the DB9 is fantastic. It seems like such a unique car. It looks amazing. I love the sleek roofline.
The performance of the DB9 is better too so thats another plus for that car.

You know the DB9 is by far the better car nicer looking better handling and better value, but the only problem is that Aston have made it so good that there is not much point in having the Vanquish S on the market, it is about 60-70 grand more than the DB9 and their track time is exactly the same which is a bit of a stab in the foot for aston.
The bentley although claims to beat the aston off the mark but its not only until plus 100mph speeds that it does pull away slightly because ist such a big lump.

Interior of the Bentley is from a VOLKWAGEN.
Now, in this particular case, that should simply end this argument, since let's face it, Bentley owners wouldn't be caught dead in a VW. But this particular VW, the Phaeton, is a marvel of engineering and a darn good car, and quality too. But that came in before the Continental GT, and that's why the Conti's interior uses alot of the same trim pieces, dash, knobs, switches, etc...From a Volkswagen...
The Bentley has AWD...and is more nose heavy than Groucho Marx with a nasal infection, honestly, the thing has a huuuuuuuuge 6.0 Liter TT W12 up front that has two of the cylinders on top of the front axle. No matter what you do to mess with suspension settings, you can't hide that shnoz heaviness, just the way Porsche can't hide the rear weight bias of it's cars. Luckily however for Porsches, rear engine placement has bigger benefits than the way forward bloatedness of the Bentley.
I'm rambling so here's the problems with the Bentley Continental GT:
-Weight Distribution is absurd, and forces the front wheels and brakes, suspension system up front to attempt to compensate and hide that from the driver.
-The actual weight is stratospheric (5000lbs +), but for some reason, in cars like Bentley's, Rolls Royce's and Mercedes Benz's limo-class cars, that seems to be less offensive than in other cars.
-Interior quality, though excellent, is from a VW and should've been done by the Bentley boys in England, not the actual one's for they be all "dead". But by British engineers with their zany styling ideas and not by a bunch of engineering fanatics from VW's factory in whatever country they moved that sucker to.
I should point out right now that I just woke up...
Aston Martin, name alone makes you think "fast, powerful, luxurious, exclusive".
Fast-186 mph...That's *cough* SIX miles an hour faster, just think, you could pass a Continental owner SIX miles an hour faster at your top end!!!
Powerful-While the Aston loses this number-for-number battle...It's got a proper, naturally aspirated 12 cylinder motor up front, behind the front axle and in front of that dead sexy cabin (perfect 50/50 distribution).
Interior Luxury-Made of aluminum that is used in much of the chassis and construction of the car. Honestly, the DB9's interior is the best of any car I've laid eyes on in years. The fact that there is nothing, I could play chess on it, on the middle divider panel except some buttons makes me feel connected with the beautiful Bond woman I'd no doubt be expected to have with me.
Appointments included Sat Nav of the dual screen variety =). Handless phone, full interior leather seating, suede headliner, and naturally, plenty of room for you and the lady to be comfy while running to the mall or track, or across country.
Performance orientation, the DB9 wins this hands down...The DB9 was built to be lighter and stronger with aluminum and magnesiumm throughout the car and it shows, a weight of under 3,800 lbs. Ability to use thinner tires, and rwd only only adds to this lithe feeling and "tossability". Those thinner tires also help in bad weather, and the lightweight aids even more in that aspect...
Now, a major reason, that pretty much wins it over for me is this...
Culturally, I think you don't have to like cars to hate the way wealth is portrayed in Hollywood or in Hip-Hop, and knowing that someone as dumb as Lil' John can own the Bentley and Nelly, and Fifty Cent can all get into the Bentley makes me get irked. Money talks apparently, REALLY LOUDLY TOO!
Now Aston Martin is reserving these for it's more business orientated customers, and damnit, that's what they sure as hell should be doing. Give it to a guy that has to go to his board meetings and decide financing for 50,000 people under them instead of someone who has to go to some awards show just to go to the party afterwards. GET. A. LIMO.
DBR9-End. Of. Story.
Also, any parent that actually heeds any advice to the purchasing of these types of cars from his kids needs to give my ass the money or a dose of cold ass water.

What, daddy planning on buying another aston or a bentley now CKG690?
Anyways, i'm not going to get too into this. I'd choose the bentley. Truth is that i dont need the performance of the Aston. I want a big, heavy car that can go fast when it wants. It's a true GT.

now ckg690 that really pisses me off that you accually disagree with me. im always right. there is proof from 2 site (and i have more) that the db9 is faster in acceleration. just like i said. where did you get that the db9 does it in 4.9 seconds and the gt does it in 4.7? although the sourses are 18 mph of for the top speed of the gt, that is not what i said. i said the db9 is faster in acceleration and from several car sites i have been proved right.
sorry to rub off the wrong way if i am, i hate being wrong. nothing against you.
anyways like i already said and what ghalos said (its like he read my mind) i would chose the aston martin.
