All those features, the leather the roof..ETC..

And this car weights 3556lbs..

To put that into perspective.
Weights less than a bare bones 335i
weights only 100lbs more than a 135i
Weights 50 less than a very mustang.

Now i know those are ODD cars to chose to go from..but everything else is either not even CLOSE to the TL's class(hyundai tirbuons and other sports coupes)..or outweight the car by 200-300lbs...

I mean the fact that this fully dect out luxo car can weight in at the same as a CTS-V...says alot about Acura's ability to save weight.

Well because cars just seem to get heavier with all these saftey regulations.

How do we know it won't be light?

True. It does look like a small car in the pictures.

If they stuff that V10 into a car the size of a 6th gen Accord coupe, it could be light enough...same as a 335 BMW maybe?

Well if they manage to get it below that weight im going to be happy.

funny that you mention it...
Seeing as how the 335coupe i mentioned in my post..

If honda can keep the car SUB Acura TL(Which i don't think will be a problem in the slightest) this thing will be a absolute beast with even 400HP let alone 500

(I think everyone's forgetting this thing will have 500HP)

even at 500HP and the TL's size, it'll be pushing 20moreHP than the GT-R..the best AWD in the business, and will be about 300lbs less

A V10 doesn't mean it's going to be too heavy necessary; plenty of new tricks have shown up in the last ten years that I'm sure Honda hasn't missed.

I think anywhere below 3100 pounds for this car, and it will be golden.

Acura NSX Prototype Nurburgring time is set at 7:37. At least that is what this website is claiming but all of the timing for it was unofficial.

Slightly off topic but still about Hondas: VTEC/Drifster have you heard anything about the 2nd gen S2000? I like the S2000 now, but IMO it's time for an update to keep it fresh.

My bet is that it has at least a hundred pounds or so of extra data collection equipment too, so that's weight it down a bit. First run or so is alway pretty conservative, I mean look at how the GTR was able to drop off over ten seconds or so.

I agree. And a new model may drive AP1 and AP2 prices lower. That's when I take action.

Yeah it'll be one heck of a car that'll move with atom-smashing speed. I'd like to take a walk around the craniums of some of the GT-R developers and listen in on what they think so far. Now here is the scary thought what will a Type R version do? Crush everything it sees.

It IS small...size of a Cayman almost!

That`s pretty impresive I was beting in a car with the size of a 559 GTB not a Cayman, but this are really good news and it`s away more good locking than the fatass of the GT-R.
Talking about GT-R I don`t expect much more from the V-spec, maybe 50 hp more and looks revised but nothing else.

With a shuch short wheelbase plus the wheels are more ahead and behind than in other cars (shorter noose and tail) and the good balance of a front-mid or mid engine layout this car promisses probably be marvelous at narrow corners and with the AWD stable at high speeds, a pretty good combination. This car just sounds... right. What is good.

Well, I don't know if I should post any pictures, because they're copyrighted pictures from another site.

That wouldn't be very moderator-y of me, would it?

FYI, It's free to join the TOV, and it's a cool community with lots of in-depth news and reviews.

Don't forget, that lap was timed with stopwatch operated by a spy photographer on a track with traffic. So looking at those two factors as well, this could well be an epic car!

Anyone else feeling a Ferrari esque sound coming from that V10?:-k

Yeah, I did kinda have a feeling that it sounded a bit like the older V10 Ferrari (The F2003-F2004), although it sounded as though it were running at low revs (relative to what that engine is designed to run at)

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!
Now I have a "teaser" of what the new NSX looks/sounds like!!
:D
Regarding size, it did seem quite abit smaller than what I was expecting...I was expecting something about the size of an F430, or Boxster esque in terms of width...

too tall, too short. too ugly. none of our nsx owners like it. it's even worse than the last concept.

On a side note, here was a little thought I had today. I think it would be perfect if the government passed a law that after 2010 no manufactured vehicle could weigh over 3,000 pounds without the driver having a special type of driver's license. This special "heavy operators permit" would be a real test of driving skill, instead of the pathetic excuse for a test they have nowadays that you have to be half brain dead to fail, insuring that those who actually needed a large vehicle for whatever reason could still drive one but would serve as a hassle and obstruction for the many casual SUV owners and would block the people who should not be in a large vehicle because they simply do no have the driving talent.

This would do two things; it would lower the weight of the most vehicles greatly improving fuel economy across the board, but would also remove most of the large vehicles from the roads meaning you would be able to drive a small car without the safety concerns of being smashed by a massive SUV and having no chance of surviving.

I would not have it be retroactive, meaning that cars older the 2010 that were over 3000 would be able to be driven without such a permit.Genius... PURE GENUIS!!! I wish that would happen, but it seems that more companies make even more SUV's and Trucks nowadays than before.
