It has a unique roof designed by the Italian designstudio Fioravanti. Ferrari calledthe roof Revocromico. It closes(or opens) in 10 seconds. The people in the car can choose between 5 settings for the roof, from completely transparent, and completely untransparent. Within one minute t goes from transparent to untransparent.
It has a few more horses as the normal 575, 540 in this one and 515 in the normal 575, but that doesnt make it faster. It's topspeed is 320 km/h, 5 km/h lower as the 575.
How much more weight the roof adds to the car is not yet known.
You can choose between the F1 paddle shift, and the normal manual gearbox. And the 575 GTC handling package is also availabe on this car.
The car will have it's debut on the Los Angeles Motor Show, 7 January

Damn, the transformation of the 550 to the barchetta form was so so. Not bad since with the top down it looks amazing.
But this, I'll reserve my judgement till I see some actual photos from autoshows or something. And the GTC handling package on that? A barchetta? Doesn't make sense to me, unless of course you want the best handling F/RWD barchetta on the planet.

brings to mind that song by rush entitles "red barchette". It's the definition. I think they sum it up best:

A brilliant red Barchetta
From a better vanished time
I fire up the willing engine
Responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel
I commit my weekly crime

It looks nice in those pics, and that roof is cool. I hope it is shown at the next motor show so i can see it for my self.

It still doesn'y impress me, Maranello, Barchetta, its still a 575, not much variance in the look, but the performance is where it counts

Ferrari has used America many times before in a carname:
From the Ferrari site:
1952: 342 America
1953: 250 Europe
1953: 375 America
1956: 410 Superamerica
1957: 250 California
1960: 400 Superamerica
1966: 360 California

So Malin, you can still buy it;)

Rather tasty, unlike the 550 Barchetta this looks great with top up or down, the 550 with top up was a no no no for me

There should be more than 399 made. There was 399 Enzo's and they're more special.
