After BMW announced that their new 330i engine would get some 258 HP, i could just picture in my head, the image of Infiniti executives, shreeking out loud, at the fact that BMW was only 2 HP away from their beloved G35 (picture this face on a person wearing a suit and tie :O). But apparently, there was less shrieking and more improving, which brought the new 6 speed VQ (in the G35, and 350Z) to 298 HP.. just 2 horses short of the new Acura RL. I can just picture the Nissan executives going "Take that BMW!"

Sorry, but can't put up pics right now.. better sleep.. can't wait for tomorrow to be over. Then we get a week off for Thanksgiving!

I'll take the 3-Series, it looks better IMO and is faster round bends. Also, its a BMW so has a better image in the Uk.

I'm going to go for the G35. How can you not? There is a 40 horsepower and nearly 50 lbft gap between the G35 and the 330i. Don't get me wrong, the 330i is a terrific car, but I wanted to give my opinion for the other side this time. :) The 330i is a pretty good track car due to its well tuned suspension, but I dont know much about the G35 so I'll leave it at that. I just love the exhaust note that comes out of those 350Z pipes, especially in the coupe. Both are good looking cars, but I have to give Infiniti props because they aren't as common as 330i's. Having a lot of cars tells me that the car is a good car, and is selling well, but the G35 is also doing very well so I am not worried. The G35 is just an all around good car, and there are no flaws I can see. 300hp is plenty to throw me back in the seat and take me for a wild ride, so I'm satisfied.

I'll take the G35. It won a 6 coupe comparison on C&D. And now that it is improved with more power, it only sweetens the deal.

I believe the G35 gets 52/48 weight distribution, and the BMW gets about the same.

Yeah - once again, Infiniti has made a fairly significant yet rather quiet change to the G35 range. Power in 2004 was 260 for the sedan, regardless of transmision, and 280 for the coupe. This year, it's 280 for the automatic coupe and sedan, and 298 for the manual coupe and sedan. So, like the Acura NSX and Mazda RX-8, a power advantage is given based on transmission to the manual transmission.

Either way - I'm still taking the G35, which is considerably better in every aspect except handling.

Hmmmm...

Over the sedan 330i, I'd pick the G35, because it's more powerful, sportier and fits better to my age. Better yet, I'd get a 350Z.

But if you give me a 330 coupe, it will be haaard for me to say....
