2003 BMW M3 Or The Mitsu 2003 Evo Lancer

No flaming here! Just which you would rather have, and why?

One is a AWD in line 4
The other is a RWD in line 6

Both comperably priced $46-$50k

Extra credit points to anyone knows where the BMW symbol is derived from.

BTW this is meant to show how a poll is supposed to be conducted, show your opinion, don't flame anyone and move on.

M3 all the way.
How can you resist that smooth Inline-6 engine? And I'd love to kick the rear out in the corners.

M3. Better car. Nice engine NA. But here i would buy an evo just for the exclusivity cuz u don't see so often evos as m3s. And in a way i would buy it for it's practicability 4 doors and awd for winter conditions.

Cmon fellas, nobody knows where the BMW symbol comes from?

The BMW symbol derives from an aircraft propeller engine, because in the older days BMW used to make aircraft angines, and damn good ones too.

I'd choose the M3, because it's a better all around car, and better overall. The Evo lacks in usability, ride, mileage and quality.
But if I were to go for a track weekend, I'd choose the EVO.

i think BMW should've stuck with their first logo. thats so cool. Anyways, M3 without a doubt. It's not contest. The interior is years better than the Evo, and the inline 6 is bullet proof. It might not be quite as quick as the Evo, but it's plenty fast for what i need. Infact, it's the best everyday supercar ever. No doubt about it.

Exactly the same here.. the EVO isn't exactly worth it, unless you really are looking for an obscenely purists car.. plus, they're getting a little common around here, even one of the teachers at my school drives one (white, and those gold rims that look like the ones on the STi). M3.. thats a different story.

cutlass might live outside the u.s., and in parts of europe, they are around the same price...i think [but then again he is using the american dollar sign{$}] , either way, the Mitsubishi costs around $32,000, and the M3 costs about $44,000...not to mention the dealer markups the evo has....

but think about this, the m3 is 1000x as refined as the evo, it has a leather interior, with wood [or aluminum, i dont know]trim, a very elegan interior, it has LED lights, 19inch wheels, think about it....the evo barely has an interior

also, one word posts suck

EVO...It's alot less expensive in the US. For about ten grand that thing would absolutely ANNIHILATE an M3.

Simply chosen based on price...

Ding ding ding.... We have a winner.....It's spinning white propeller against a blue sky!

Also ...if you follow the links there... that evo was 46K and the beemer was 50k. Thats why I put the links there... cuz that EVO Shot from 0-60 a little faster than the M3 according to that site....

Me personally would take that EVO... no particular reason why, except that I might consider that to be more of a sleeper. Like that Tubo Dodge minivan with no markings. Or that AWD Twin turbo Beretta Chevy messed aronud with...

All great comments by the way!!!!

and the inline 6 is bullet proof.

Yeah it is. I shot right through the piston with a 9 gauge shot gun and it healed like the machines in T4.

Not in any known parts of Europe.

[but then again he is using the american dollar sign{$}] , either way, the Mitsubishi costs around $32,000, and the M3 costs about $44,000...not to mention the dealer markups the evo has....

$30000 for the base Evo to $47100 for the M3. Yes, the Evo is marked up but keep in mind both vehicles are marked up considerably, when you factor in that the base M3 has cloth seats and yet 99% of M3s these days have leather, which is an $1100 "option".

but think about this, the m3 is 1000x as refined as the evo, it has a leather interior, with wood [or aluminum, i dont know]trim, a very elegan interior, it has LED lights, 19inch wheels, think about it....the evo barely has an interior

Both vehicles perform similarly. The M3 is $17100 more. Where do you think the extra $17100 goes?

also, one word posts suck

If you have a problem you want to settle off the Internet, we can do that. Making personal statements like this on the Internet is just stupid. If I had attacked him for being wrong, you would've said something else - which you actually did anyway, in your first "paragraph." So here's two words: cram it.

Here, on www.sportscarforums.com, we call that 'spamming', maybe you should read the forum rules?

as for countries where they cost the same, try greece, ask jim or dimitris, the car prices there are insane

you might want to edit your first post and say that in BIG BOLD LETTERS, because i think most people just assumed m3 vs. evo

What are you, seven?

They aren't that insane - one thing to remember is quoted European prices are "on the road", as the Brits say, whereas our prices, because it varies state-to-state, are always devoid of destination charge, dealer markup, tax, and title fee (not to mention other registration and emission program costs).

Either way - the Evo doesn't magically increase to the same price of the M3 just because European prices are somewhat higher; they increase by percentage and even if that percentage is the same for both vehicles, the Lancer would still be cheaper by the same percentage.

Are you buying this trash? Earlier he was making fun of me because my posts were too long, then he tells me to stop making one-word posts, of which I've made exactly... one. And if I had said any more than that one word, he would've gotten on me for flaming. It's not too easy to play within his perfect rules when he's going around harassing me. And it's not like he's some longtime Internet-loving freak; he hasn't even been here a month and a half! (though at the current rate he's making upwards of 25 posts per day)

i'm not sure where your getting this....firstly, it's she not he, i love it when you make long posts, long thought out posts are exactly what scf needs, i just hate it when people make one word posts, so please dont...[example....you said 'right...?' when you could of said 'actually, i disagree with you on this one, the prices are .....................'] i really don't want to argue with you, but if you'd like to talk to me about something other than the topic, please pm me

FYI, the EVO and the M3 do NOT cost the same in Europe. The EVO is considerably cheaper.

Also, ckg690 please don't be so harsh, he's done nothing wrong. :)
