Here we go again! This should be a challenge as NV85 has chosen a rare one! The Renault Torino -popular in the 60's and 70's- is quite a looker, and a new history entry to most, including myself.

The car never followed Renault's design because it's not a pure Renault, it was comercialized under the french brand just because they bought I.K.A. (Industrias Kaiser Argentina) the brand that "developed" the Torino before Renault established itself as a manufacturer in our country.
If you want an idea have in mind that this car was our ponycar so you can take Ford's, Dodge's and Chevrolet's example: give it a retro styled design, an upgrade that maintains its main characteristics.
But on the otherside it would be interesting to see how a big RWD Renault coupe could look like right now.

Just because I love Argentina and River I will attempt this one.... I was also thinking about the Renault Fuego. That was a nice car.

Damn it was, I loved it and I still do. My perfect Fuego would be 1991 GTA Max... in white.

That's your choice, you can try to update the Torino or design a big rwd Renault coupe.
I used an american style for the car but I'm still not decided what to use, I made a couple of other sketches. I'm working on other designs but I still have to figure out how to give it the Torino feeling.

Well, here it is, I think. I'm not going to attempt to make a PS version because the perspective is already a little warped and it'll look very odd on photoshop. It isn't going to be the best entry, I can tell that, but I put alot of thought into it, so here goes:

Nope... I have no luck right now. Really, I've been trying to imagine myself with this car's old design and integrate the technology of today's cars.

I like my entry, so I doubt I'll change it. A few more entrants would be nice.

hmmmm. It seems trying to turn a GT-R into an attractive 4-door Renault is harder that I thought.

I'm working (slowly) on the final sketches. It looks more like a modern hardcore Renault sports coupe.

I might post sketches soon, just for a buzz.

I think the design could've gone one of two ways:

a) Focus on bringing features from the original into the design but put a modern twist on them.#
b) Look carefully at modern Renault design and base your design from there.

I for one chose the latter, but I intergrated as many cues as possible. However, it is still difficult to decide whether or not to sacrifice looks for cues.

I finally got round to doing mine. I'm not sure I if I like it, it really just looks like a Laguna coupe. I tried adding colour as well this time.

I have too much free time on my hands lately so I've come up with 2 different, totally new designs in which may be called a record time, lol.
I drove away from the retro-ponycar concept I posted before in favor of a modern design; the first one is an impression of what a sporty Renault coupe could look like meanwhile the second is sort of a luxury GT.
