Once again , it's time for Canberra to play host to every revhead , deadhead & d1ckhead.

Summernats is the nation's leading car festival & one of the biggest in the world.

The best thing about it is the sheer amount of cars. Everywhere you look , there's cars. Tucked away behind the main streets & parked out the back of the camping ground.

Anything goes here. Be it 1 to 16 cylinders or 1 to 16 wheels. It's a 4 day vehicular free for all.

I am very impressed at the behaviour of the attendees this year & I can only put it down to this...

When you start letting 4 cylinder & turbo cars in more so than you would muscle & pro street cars , the crowd that you attract will reflect upon the superior vehicle style of choice.

In other words , you let every guido , wog & wanna-be wigger into the event with the wizz-bang gang in tow & things start to get out of hand.

This was the case last year when the 4 & rotary contingent far outweghed the 6 & 8 cylinder contingent.

This year , it's back to the old school. V8's & mountains of metal are in abundance. Even the compact car guys are doing it with their corolla's & mazda's.

And yes , EVERY CAR GETS DRIVEN EVERYDAY. Everyone just cruises around the National Exhibition Centre all the time & most go in the motorcross events i.e. spear a spud , motorkana , go to whoa & burnouts.

To win the title of Summernats Grand Champion , you have to compete in all events & score well as well as having a car that gets judged to be the outright best of show.

That will happen on Sunday afternoon.

Tomorrow is the final of everything...burnouts , go to whoa & dyno comp & everyone has their cars out so I'm just going to take as many photos as possible.

Def a sweet event, wouldve loved to have been there. I have to agree though some of or most of these rides seem a bit overkill lol, that may be an understatement.

Bloody hell...what a day!!!

Once again , the dyno cell was the place to be. I'm over burnouts , revving engines for no reason & general d1ckheadery.

For 4 hours , it was on.

I managed to get a hold of the final results which are right infront of me so here's some numbers...

Mark Arblaster's WAR440 Valiant hit 1079hp.(Procharger)
Gary Pope's VX SS Holden hit 1493hp.(T)
Rob Vickery's Holden VU Ute hit 1713hp.(TT)
Craig Munro's Holden VX Clubsport hit 1895hp.(TT)
Gus Nicholls' Holden WB Ute (TT) hit...

1939.7hp ON HIS SHAKEDOWN RUN!!! The tailshaft shat itself so that was it. Gus was looking for atleast 21/2200hp.

And remembering , this is at the wheels so these guys are making well in excess of 23/2400hp at the flywheel.

The best part? IT'S A CANBERRA CAR!!! A.C.T. represent!!!

Jake Sanderson made an astonishing 588.2hp in his Mazda Capella 13b. Adam Lubinski had a riced up Camira that rattled off 368hp at the front wheels.

Kris sheather pulled 561.5hp out of a SR20 in a 200SX. Bloody impressive.

The Summernats Grand Champion went to a nice HQ 1 tonner that managed to go in all the events & score high , managed an incredible 906hp from a n/a 655cu.in motor & also went in the burnout comp.

You can have a 5million dollar show car at this event but it don't mean squat if you're not gonna get it out there & drive the a$s of it.

Just the usual Canberra skanks & attention whores. Minimal titty flashing & heckling BUT , saturday night made the front page of the papers due to about 150 drunk idiots just walking around causing trouble & whatnot.

I just got home so I'll post a heap more pics later on & I have over 900mb of video footage so I'll go through it & upload the good stuff to YouTube.

P.S. Someone mentioned the crazy Land Rover...that's a Canberra car also. Runs at Western Sydney International Dragway. In the 9.0's/8.9's I think.
