Can I do or maybe someone else do another Photography Comp?
It's a general one. Any pictures of anything. From the bottle of water to your CPU. Good idea?

I kinda have a feeling only like 2 or 3 people will be able to do this. I would have to get a plane ticket to another country for me to take a picture of an F1 car.

i agree because seeing an f1 car in person is a very rare thing

there was no age limit on the F1 car in question... i'm trying to find the modern F1 pics i've taken, but here are 3 pics i would consider if this topic stays F1 based - all taken the same afternoon at work when we had them in the showroom... Not sure which i'd choose if I can't find any others... sure these are not great photos, i would post the high-res one if i entered, and I cant find the ones i've taken on the new cars driving around...sucks :(

I took this at the 2005 Monte Carlo Rally during a night stage.

Old picture, took it at the 2006 Gran Prix Du Montreal. These are all of the Ferrari Challenge tires set up to be handed out to each team before their race. (For anyone that's confused these are NOT F1 tires, their's a Ferrari Challenge race that generally follows the F1 circuit and races the F430 & F360 Challenge race cars.)

I did think it would be rather hard to get self-taken shots of F1 cars so yeh anything car-related (like last time) will do.

We're missing a good one from SubaruKid! I know he's into photography!

It's ok though, I'll keep doing it until it gets a bit more popular and even better shots come in. Then it'll pick up ;).

sadly the number of photo's i have left is very few - i have lost 2 external hardrives in a year (melted and erased their own hardrive) so I have very few photo's left that i've taken :smt022 and really annoyingly for both i had said "i must back this up" then before i could they died :(

Anyway, anything car related, here is my entry for this competition:
Took the photo in April '07 :) He was driving forward at this time, with a wide angle lens maybe I was standing a little close? :D

Anyhow, that FXX is a killer shot ;).

I know where that was taken. ;) That's a damn impressive photo as well, a car that long and low to the ground is perfectly captured with a wide-angle lens.

Thats a nice photo, maybe you should be the official photographer this year! because I dont think I will this year so they'll want someone to do it, I could even recommend you!

I will be there again though :) although still too young to hire a car so will walking all over again :p its a great weekend so I wouldn't miss it :)

Hey where is that event anyways, palm beach? I might be going to UTampa next semester, or worst comes to worst next year I will, but I would die to go to it.

It's in Celebration, which was a Disney-based project that became a "town." It's one weird place though, if you have ever seen The Truman Show, you'll know what I mean.

It's off of I-4 on the Kissimmee/192 exit, then take a right after you go past the office park and follow that road into the town.

SubaruKid, that would be an amazing opportunity, especially since I have a much better camera and some much needed experience in comparison to last time. It takes place about two weeks before my finals, so I think I could manage it (hopefully I'll do better this semester so that I don't have to cram as much).

I love seeing that Lotus on the road, to see it in yellow, with the good wheels, with a manual tranny -- it was my dream car without a doubt.

D'you guys think I should put up an open poll for the voting or a proper 2 & 1 point system like POTM ?

It's one of the few places in FL where you can live without really having a car, there are a lot of places to go in town, and the little place with the gas station and a bunch of shops is really close by. A shame that they closed down the grocery store there though...

And that would be great, I don't even have much of a portfolio, so I'm just interested in building it up as I go. As for the editing, yeah, I'm going to need some help with that. I've used Photoshop for years, but the whole matter of selecting good photos is the time consuming part. I think I may need some extra memory cards as well. :)

And yes, back to the topic. I think you should keep the 2-1 voting system and start it soon.
