Well, as usual, around this time Clarkson brings out a DVD
So this year is no different, but this year, there is no mocking off America, so we won't have "CLARKSON IS DICK" being yelled around.

Instead there are alot of interesting reviews, which trust me, are all worth watching.

Now i think they're in the right order(probaly not) so you can watch them one by one

I like how he goes through the list of countries that can make supercars but doesn't include Americans. lol

Probaly cause we don't get American Super cars.
Both the Saleen and SSC have to be imported to get to here.

Thats not true monkkey he def did. He talked about his Ford GT a bit, but he hates American cars cause he says all his GT did was break down all the time. Which is why he sold it and got a Lambo Gallardo. See I love Jeremy and I love Top gear but I thought this DVD was kinda lame. It was funny no doubt and I got it right away. However the cars he chose really let me down. No 911 turbo, no CGT, no nothing like that. He had a Lambo LP640...But nothing else to compete with it in that league really. I don't know I suppose I was expecting to see CGT, Koni's, Enzos. Actually maybe Im glad he chose the ones he did. They are more realistic I suppose.

i downloaded the dvd and thought it was a waste of bandwidth, the best part was the gwhiz crashing into the table, but i dont class the amv8, gallardo, f430, 599, r8 or 911 to be supercars, it should have been called, clarksons uber fast sportscars and 2 supercars shootout

yes, well everyone has a varying opinion as to what define's supercars

in jeremies case it's a big price tag and a "made in (fill in blank with some european country)" sticker

I like how he goes through the list of countries that can make supercars but doesn't include Americans. lol

All he has to do is have one on the show to prove once and for all that aAmerican cars are "shitty". The problem is; the saleen would probably be in the top 3 on the lap time board.

Oh, and his justification for the gt being "the perfect example of the perfect world"; having maerican powered (the engine) being surrounded and controlled by Europe; the brakes, ect, ect, is a bunch of ****, that, if we applied to other cars would make his pornography [aston martin] about as British as soccer.:D

.........why don't we call football soccer and soccer football again? It really makes no sense.......

**edit**
But there is 1 things that i can actually applaud clarkson for. If he doesn't like it; he says so. Car and driver tv, spike tv's powerblock and all that boring stuff we have here NEVER go off on a car, because the manufacturers get made....most are probably paid to test the cars anyway....
IS the speed channel any different?

As much as of an arse that JC can be, he is still one of the greatest presenters of an automotive based show I have seen. Last time it was the Americans, now its the French, but I don't think there will be much of an uprising this time, we have no French members.

Here is what I thought of each clip:

LP640- Great car, but how lamborghini forgot to make a roof is a travesty. I mean I am sure if you read the instructions you would be able to assemble it correctly, but that is just totally unthinkable in today's world. To me, that is very dissappointing, especially if there is a sudden rainstorm while you are out and about, and your interior gets ruined because of a lapse in thought by the raging bull company. If I am going to spend over $300K on a car, it had better have a roof that can be up in under 25 seconds.

Renault- Wow, hilarious stuff. I mean that whole gWhiz/Table bit was side splittingly awesome.

Gallardo- Great car and it seemed to me he liked the best out of the whole show. I mean after all, he did buy one.

F430 vs Gallardo- Very surprising the Ferrari lost in that one. Funny at the end though. It cost a looooooot of money, it better be the right choice!

Audi R8- You know what, although this car is a stunning one to look at, it isn't as exciting as any other car in its class. I just don't know what it is, but it seems overly subdued, even if you can drift it with AWD.

911 vs R8- Poor Porsche having to be wrecked there, and I can almost guarantee something was affected over a normal one. I mean the violence of the hit is just amazing and for something mechanically not to be broken would be shocking. The toe, the axles, or the suspension geometry must have been somewhat affected. Great job on it beating the R8 in the race. I love Sabine! But she did a lot of blocking and a lot of overdriving the corners, where the Stig just ran through them cleanly. Oh, and does anyone know the song that is playing at the end of that vid, when the R8 is driven around town.

Tuned POS- Not much to say, funny stuff again.

Radical- I thought it was a pretty pointless and short clip. I mean the SR3 is literally a race car, and it just seemed like there was no reason to drive it here. Hillarious part when he thinks he is a driver though.

Ascari A10- WOW! That V8 rumble is reminiscent of a C6R and I love it. The car is simply amazing inside and out and it puts up amazing numbers too. Like the Radical, it really is a race car, and only belongs on a track. Sort of reminds me of the Gumpert Apollo.

Ferrari 599- Another "subdued" car to me like the R8. I mean sure its fast and looks very nice, but if I had the opportunity to buy it, I would spend the $200k+ somewhere else to tell you the truth.

V8 Vantage- Extremely pointeless review with a lot of drawbacks to having a V8 Vantage and no real positive points. It sounds superb, but the car, especially in convertible form, isn't all that great. How the heck it wins here, I have no idea.

Bugatti Veyron- I understand the maginutude of what this car brings to the table but it just doesn't seem to me like its the greatest thing ever. I mean sure they used magnesium for the to save a few grams, but you need to spend an astounding $8,000 for EACH. This to me is plainily stupid and unnecessary. I find it funny that the car wasn't put on the track, wasn't driven by the Stig, wasn't put up side by side with at least the LP640, and wasn't ever pushed to the max. Yet it wins over all of the cars in the video. Oh, and of course, after bashing the crap out of the French for not having a supercar he goes on to say that the Veyron is French. (keeping in mind the German engine and ownership)

Overall it was fun video to watch, and really was stupid in the end. The V8 Vantage is not a supercar, but it won in a supercar showdown. There was no Koenigsegg, no S7, no Carrera, no Pagani, and no SLR 722. These cars are true supercars, and he doesn't mention even one (strangley he says the swedes make a supercar, but he doesnt test one out). Only the LP, and Ascari can be considered as the supercars here, even the Ascari is borderline racecar. The others are either racecars or sports cars/tourers.

I am a big fan of Clarkson, his books especially are really entertaining. But his opinions of what car is good and what is not should never be taken seriously. He is a stuck up arrogant upper class know all. Or at least he thinks he is upper class, but really he's only middle class, with a big chip on his shoulder. He is like a big spoilt child who has to have his own way. And usually gets it. If he loves something, he will gloss over its faults and only tell you its good points. If he dislikes something, he will gloss over the great things, and only tell you its faults (no matter how small they are) This is how he works. He really does like American cars, but because he's slagged them off for so long he cant go back on that, because that would be admitting he's wrong! and he can never be wrong!?! can he! :D But then he's nearly always wrong! :D This is what makes him such an interesting, entertaining and yet annoying person. Sometimes I love what he does :D and sometimes I want to smack him in the mouth! Yet still im curious as to his opinion on things.................................. ..
