The FXX, which is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello, has been updated with an evolution package aimed at further improving its handling and performance. The package was developed as a result of Ferrari's (http://www.fast-autos.net/vehicles/Ferrari/2008/FXX_Evoluzione/#) collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and with the invaluable support of Michael Schumacher. The FXXs equipped with this package will also sport a new livery in addition to new rear wing profiles.

Maranello's engineers studied the wealth of information gained to develop a kit which will cut the FXX's Fiorano lap time to under 1"16"" (previously it was 1"18""). The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine can now punch out a massive 860 hp at 9500 rpm. Gearshifting takes just 60 ms, a drop of 20 ms on the previous time, and the gear ratios have been adapted to make use of the extra 1000 rpm now delivered by the engine.

The car's new traction control system, developed in close collaboration with the GES Racing Division engineers, gives the driver a choice of no less than nine different settings (plus the off position) which are selected using a switch on the central tunnel. This means that the driver really can modify the car's behaviour on the track from corner to corner, just as the Formula 1 drivers do to maximise performance and reduce tyre wear. The FXX's traction control is also now less invasive and more flexible, adapting more efficiently to the individual driving style of each driver - a requirement pinpointed when this very extreme car was being driven on the track by non-professional drivers.

The FXX's special 19" Bridgestone tyres now last longer too thanks to a new car setup and new front suspension geometry, while the Brembo brakes, which boast large Composite Ceramic Material (CCM) discs, are more efficient with the result that the brake pads last twice as long. Thanks to the drivers" feedback the Ferrari engineers have also developed new aerodynamic solutions aimed at increasing downforce over the rear axle. The FXX now sports a new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps which have combined to increase aerodynamic efficiency by 25% overall. The active front spoiler control system settings have been adjusted to take these modifications into account too. New telemetry monitoring of the steering angle and brake pump pressure will further boost the interaction between Client test drivers and the company's engineers also. From next year onwards, it will be possible for drivers to have two extra video cameras mounted on their car in addition the existing rear-facing one. This will, of course, give the drivers excellent rear visibility without having to impinge in any way on the car's aerodynamics.

one word to express my feelings; disgusted.

This is the best looking supercar I've seen in looooooooong time. It is beautiful and aggressive at the same time and still has amazing aerodynamics. I don't know how they do it. I think its amazing how it takes 60 milliseconds to shift gears. I mean that about it. The only thing that worries me is how much weight that fancy computer system will add.

Ferrari will always be ahead of the game as long as they can make cars like this..

I mean really, what out there beats it short of 750HP Go-karts?

Damn I'd be so pissed if I'd finally got my hands on a FXX and then this came out...

I think I'll just stick with the 430 Suderia...

860HP Go-Karts !!

Thats crazier.
The FXX was fast enough, but this is just like Ferrari.
They make a car, and everyone thinks this is another amazing Ferrari, they couldn't have done a better job, then they do.
Its fun.

Its kinda fitting to.
Ferrari just won the F1 world championship. What a great year for Ferrari.
I thought that Ferrari's 60th was going to be pretty rubbish.
But the Scud is now one of my favourite cars, they make one of the most amazing comebacks to win in F1 this year, then they tell us about this beast.

paddle shifters can be a negetive, but whatever

anyways, looks a bit beter than the previous model so it gains favor there, and it's also more powerful performance wise (and engine wise as well) altogether I like it, however i'd still never spend the money on it

I love the FXX before. I love even more! Ferrari can stay ahead of the game with cars like this. I wouldn't buy on though. There's nothing wrong with dreaming though. It looks a tad bit better than the normal FXX. Its still a wonderful car though.

WOW! That really is astonishing. I'm loving the white front and rear, reminds me of the 2006 Ferrari F1 cars! (The 248 F1)

The looks are stunning, really nice, and 860hp is an absolutely massive number, plus it can revv to a billion revs per minute and I would guess that the torque figures are very very high aswell.

This is a very very nuts car, and it's been developed by their FXX customers and Schumacher himself, so it's obviously going to be bloody brilliant. What a car.

It has awesome front end :) And don't forget its not made for veronish purpouses- the owners helped into developing process, so they are much involved in it :)

this is called the Evolution package right ?!? so does it mean that if you own a FXX .. this can be a optional package that you can add ?!

Ehh? At a higher RPM there's always less torque generated but more power...

This car has nothing to do with the Veyron. It would spank the Veyron good, on any track. And that includes the drag strip too.

Shiny, still an ugly Enzo but purposeful. Very agro.

Amazing engine. Be good fun, wouldn't it?
