Group B was the fastest and therefore most dangerous rally event most of us will probably hear of. Every year the cars got fastest and more drivers had fatal crashes but with a minium 200 car homologation it produced some mean street cars.

It's a toss up between the Lancia 037 or the Ford RS200. I like the both of them for their Mid engined layout. The citroen is just downright ugly though.

Audi Quattro Sport for me, IMO it just was the best street car from the cars that were racing in Group B.

The Lancia 037 just looks like a badass racer on the street, as such, and since I don't know much about Group B, that's my choice. :P

oh my.... oh my.....
how can I choose from these cars, that I see in my dreams, a favourite, why that would be unfair on the rest.....
at least BluCam cant delete this one... but I must say 12inch, a wonderful collection, but I know the Citroen is not my fav, I like it, but not loads... so I am afraid I cannot choose...
now i must stop looking at the cars before i drool too much :P

All of these cars are completely sick! Out of them I'd probably go with the Audi Quattro Sport or the Lancia 037. The RS is nice as well, but I just dont think it compares to the others. Also, isn't the Audi Quattro Sport called the S1, or am I thinking of a different car? Maybe a road-going version or something, I dunno...

The quattro.. simply because of the quattro S1. It just comes to mind when you have the 2 phrases "rally" and "awesome"..

The Audi Quattro Sport S1 was the rally car with the snowplough wing

Audi, it looks awesome, it was the first car with AWD, it has a magnificent engine(the 5 cylinder).
A very, very good second, the Lancia 037. It's a beast

That was the Jensen FF, i think the audi was the first to have it controlled by an ECU

Sure the Lancia looks great, but it weighs 110kg more, has an ugly wing in the rear, and has less power than the Quattro not to mention that its not AWD. Those were my number one and two choices.. so I go for the Audi.

I also like the fact that the Lancia 037 is supercharged. It stand out from the turbo crowd.

The Jenson was the first car to use 4WD, Audi just made it work  and the first WRC car to use it also...

Sounds sweet, thanks for clearing that up for me.
If this pic I found is right, it almost looks like a pike's peak variant.

I agree with CarRocker, IMO the Audi Quattro was the greatest rally car of all time, so I'm sure the street car will be unimaginable.
And the Lancia comes second, it is just awesome.

Actually the best of these cars is the Peugeot.
This car won group B in 1986 before it was all shut down.
But i'd take the RS200 anyway, it's a much better roadcar, especially if it is the Evo version.

I'm hoping that was meant as an opinion, so it won the championship, so did other cars, Audi had the best drive system, and even the 037 manged to keep up with it on many stages and still provide some competition. Lancia is still the most sucessful rally team ever, that has to count for something

I thionk if group B continued, Lanica would rule over all. I know audi was thinking up that 1000hp rally car, but Lancia would have thought of something more extreme.

But Group B would need some special new technology to flog. The orginal series brought 4WD to the masses in sports cars and later saloons which is why it did so damn well, now a days there would have to be something else special.

group b wasnt all about that, sure it was about new technology mostly, but I think it would still exist today if it wasnt cancelled...

Man, there is point where fantasy turns into silliness. An F430 GTO? Please. That thing would never touch dirt ever. A GT2 EVO? Nah, they'd use the GT3.

you really think? you do realise there is a 355 that was used for rallying, so if someone wanted, they could easily make the F430 rallyable, and for Porsche, we already know about the GT3 rallycar, but there is always a chance if the competition was steep enough for porsche to bring their £120k GT2 onto the dirt. Its not as hard as you think it is to make supercars into rally cars.
