Which one would you buy? If you bought one for substantially less, you can use the savings to modify your car too. What's it gonna be?

Pontiac GTO. Black of course. And i'd buy a pair of black, glossy five spoke wheels. Oh yeah, and side pipe it

Out of those I would take the M3, but if $50k = £28k, then not very many of them are in my price range in the UK, infact only the 350Z can be purchased for that, which is my 2nd choice anyway

I would take the GTO, because I just like it much more than the others.

SRT-6, The best of America and Germany. More or less plus I love the styling and it does have some great performance.

Corvette, why? Well...

If I ever need four seats to use regularly I'm not likely going to want to lug them around in a sports sedan/car.
It's the fastest, the coolest looking, arguably the best bang/buck one on that list. And don't even get me started on racing pedigre and heritage. 8)

hmm tough decision but it would have to be the C6 vette b/c of the hands down performance handling is breat and the price makes it an all around great car.

If I had 50k for a performance coupe, hell I'd get a M Coupe. It's basically a Z3 with an M3 engine dropped in it.. and VERY large wheels. Get in in black (of course  ) add even bigger front and rear wheels, fine tune the suspension, lighten it a little, and get whatever extra NA power I can get out of that beastly 6. (I chose the M because you didn't tell me I had to choose from the list, I dont think... :-k

GTO because the M3 is just too expensive if it wasnt I would have gone with that.

M3 then gto. there are too many corvettes out right now so i would choose something not as common. but if the corvette was a little rarer then that would be my choice easily.

How many C6's have you seen??

I've only seen one on the road, the rest were at auto shows. And I tell you, good lord, it was a jet black coupe with the xenon's on, it gave me chills. 8)

But eh, just my o-pinion, no offense meant. :D

M Coupe, an M Roadster with a roof so unlike its open brother it has riggidity. Looks like a bead van, a cool bread van. Bread vans are cool kids. Look at the GT 40 alfa Guilia GT Zagato (1 and 2).

Same for me, first choice the M3/330 and then the 350Z.
But with $50k (€41.6k) I can't buy a 350Z here, and I can only buy a 318 Ci, which I already have (well, my dad). So...

From this list it would be a M3 for me. But it costs €80k here. That's twice the price  Stupid country.....
But i found something else for that budget here: Mazda RX-8 :) Or a nice Seat Leon Cupra with some money left for some engine tuning.

Ehh, you only got $50k = €41,6(according to Jim) And an Evo costs €50990 here, not really under the $50k budget

Um, in the US an absolute base EVO RS (only decent thing is air conditioning.. doesn't even have a wing) for around 26k.. but if you opt for everything, 28k for a sunroof, radio, power everything, leather.. another 2-3k in US

First choice for me would be an M3, then an EVO VIII (15k would go to a vishnu stage 3.. ran 12.1 secs in 1/4 mile during one lap of america), then a C6/C5 Z06 (can't decide :P)

okay, sticking with the performance coupe options, I'd pick the Infiniti G35. Areally refined car thats simple a blast to drive in the stock configuration. I'd pick up a basically bone stock Carribean Blue on with the graphite elather and 6 speed manny tranny. That would punch my budget for 33-34 big ones, leaving over $15k to paly around with. I'd lay down the remaining cash for the GReddy turbo kit, Injen intake, R-1 Titan exhaust from Power House Amuse, and a full Veilside Bodyit. That'd be all my budget, I'm pretty darn sure. It'd be hella fast and have more than impressive looks.

Well, I'll have to go with a corvette. If it has to be new I would go with either a C6 or I could find a 2004 new coupe for around 38,000.
That leaves me with 12,000 to burn right. Hello LPE. I think the 350 Supercharged kit would do nicely. That leaves me with around 2-3000 dollars left. Well, I think I would have to get a set of nice sticky tires.

Now if I promise to be on my best behaviour, I could probably find a reasonably mileaged 1998 0r 99 for around 22-25 thousand. With the coin left over, can you say 427, with some tranny mods of course.

The wing looks good from the front, IMO, but from the rear, it's not as good.

Anyway, another option i had in mind was an MR2.. i saw a damn nice one (current generation) on ebay for 25k with a veilside bodykit, and turbo-ed out to 301 WHP, and 290 ft-lbs torque (also at wheels), might not sound like an obscene amount of power.. but it weighs about 1000 lbs less than most the cars listed here (2200 lbs) and whole bunch of audio/video stuff.. and actually won some show award for all it's A/V.

Another option; RX-7.. i'm sure you could imagine what you could do with that..

And finally, often times you can find a used S2000 for around 20k, so, I'd put a comptech supercharger on it (350 HP?)

Ok my choice would be infiniti but I would better choose this one:
Honda Accord Coupe $ 28,800 and the rest of the money for tuning Technical Features
Double Wishbone Front Suspension
Five-Link Double Wishbone Rear Suspension
Variable-Assist Power Rack-and-Pinion Steering
4-Wheel Disc Brakes
Front & Rear Stabilizer Bars
240-hp, 3.0-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC, VTEC® V-6 Engine
Drive-by-Wire Throttle System™
105,000-Mile Scheduled Tune-Up Interval
6-Speed Manual Transmission

impressive choice Malin!

to Veyron:
I rarely criticise anyones choices, but a Honda Accord? With a $50,000 budget? I'm kinda shocked. The 'up a class' Acrua RSX Type-S has more cargo volume, slightly less passanger volume and weighs more than 400 fewer lbs. You can easily find a supercharging system and upgrade everything else to a pure degree and still stay within your budget. Front wheel drive has it limits too, so I'm scared as to think why youd pick a car with it.

For a sheer performance standpoint i'd take the Vette, outguns everyone else in the power/handling department (YES IT DOES, in Topgear when they tested it, it was a base model with run flat tires, against dedicated racers), in standard trim it would kill everyone in hadling maybe with exception of the M3, but if you go for the Z51 package (with real rubber tires  ) Eagle F1s it would be no contest.

And then again i could easily drive back to home confortably and rapidly.

For a luxury coupe that sits four and drives awesome, M3 no contest, after that, maybe a G35 Coupe
