Vipers are awesome American cars, even though the recent Z06 has taken the performance crown, I would still rather spend that type of money on a Viper. Turn more heads than a Corvette! Besides, you can let the guys are Heffener's Performance tinker with it and get these type of results:

You can do that to a Pinto or any other car... whatever car you do it to it's no longer the same vehicle. That's not street legal and I wouldn't bet money that it's even still a V10... I've seen quite a few small block and big block swaps in Vipers...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yBEeo6l3a6s&mode=related&search=lol... So, take a Viper, make a Super Comp car out of it, run it off the stops to crack into the 7's, and then register it so it's "street legal"... lol
Do you really think it's a street legal sub 8 second car? lol

im not a fan of Vipers, over priced and under powered, its $85,000 and a V10 and it cant even crack 200mph, the Z06 is $70,000 and hits 198mph with its V8

i never said it would be street legal, but since the performance shop is in florida (no state inspections or emissions) all you would need is street legal rubber (granted that will not give you the 8sec times)
check their site, seems pretty credible... http://garyjavo.com/index.html

And open exhaust, a wheelie bar, and a few other things.

the exhaust is no big deal in FL, but I never noticed any wheelie bars on the Vipers in the vids
I know that this type of stuff would prevent the car from being street legal, but that is why I love living in FL, for as long as it has all working lights and is wearing street rubber, you will not be bothered

lol... you're telling me that I can run my Super Gas car there without changing anything but the tires? Hell, I'm there!
Have you ever heard what those cars sound like in person with open exhaust?

monkey, kansas has no inspection requirement to get plates/tags on a car....can't you pretty much do the same thing here?
now that I've lived in missouri, I need to provide proof of inspection before they'll give me my tags

If it is anything similar to a 88 Monte Carlo with straight pipes, then yes. One of the kids at the muscle car club at the university has had that for a while, and he has only ran into trouble with the law for leaving rubber marks on the pavement.

lol... It's a 99 with a 443 small block. There is a federal Department of Transportation law regulating flames emitting from exhaust pipes. Think about that and then go look at the thread I just made about what my motor puts out. I light the staging lanes up underneath my car when I run at Topeka (one of the few tracks I uncork my car at) at night.

Damn it monkey, you are just going out of your way to be crazy and shoot flames out of your rear end!
all in all, you have got a damn great car, and if it did not shoot flames from it's arse, you could get away with it on the road in FL

I love the look of vipers, they are symply animals, but how do they explain that with a v10 with over 500 hp they are slower than a Z06, and dont tell me that is the weight.

Its the weight...and plus the Viper has been the same for like 3 yrs now, and the Z06 is like brand new...Now lets see if the New 08' Viper with 600hp, and a few other things done to it, can't whomp on the z06

Overpriced? You call 85k for 600hp overpriced? You must be out of your mind. I guess that 200mph mark is really important to you... because from 150 and above, it all looks the same from the inside.
