Well I just finished downloading and watching Season 9 of Top Gear and the Polar special. It was the only thing to brighten my mood after today. I have to say I still love this show. The episode with the Brabus Tuned SL65 was awesome, very nice car. I once took a drive in SL65 AMG and I can't imagine it with the added power. Once Again American muscle got **** on and the GT500 was chastised for its standard live axel rear end. Love the Porsche 911 Turbo got shining reviews as I expected I was just sad to see it no go around the track. The big shocker was the comparo between the Aston V8 Vantage and the new Jag Coupe. The jag surprisingly held its own and could not shake the more powerful and lighter Vantage, I certainly had a new respect for Jags after that. All in all it was a great season of a great show and the Polar special was phenominal.

The XKR is more powerful than the Vantage. I think that they were testing the XKR against the Vantage not the XK against the Vantage. I often do prefer Jaguar to Aston Martin.

Ah yes you are correct it is more powerful but much heavier. Ive always preferred Aston over Jag by a long shot especially when looks come into play. The jag is nice though without a doubt.

The XKR and V8 vantage, you might be surprised to hear have exactly the same power to weight ratio. Making them extremely evenly matched. Though i apparently the vantages gets to 100mph faster, but by a small margin of 0.3, at 11.5 secs.

Personally i prefer the jag, and the season of Top gear was good, but i sort of do want to see the funny stuff, but at the same time i want to see pleanty of cars.

Season 10 starts in October, so its just about a month and a half away then

yeah, season 9 was pretty l33t... im busy downloading the polar expedition and cant wait to see what they get up to. don't tell me cause i dont want it spoiled...

i think top gear needs review cars a bit more and concentrate less on the funny stuff... thats originally what made it a success, the funny/quality car reviews and now they've changed the top gear recipe... dont get me wrong, i love the wierd and stupid stuff they get up to sometimes, but i would like to see more car reviews... there's a few cars i would've liked to have reviewed in season 9, but maybe they'll be in season 10...

anyhoo... well done top gear on having a super tv program...

^ Yea I agree. They used to review a few more cars per programme than they do now. Although it is funny, they could still concentrate less on that and more on the cars.

BTW, does anyone know when the next series starts?
