C6. Lots of hype.
So I think a lot of people will buy it

I think Porsche but it's tough decision though

From the cars offered in the poll above, I can't decide me between the C6 Corvette, Porsche 997, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class. Anyway, I choose the ''other'' option, because the new car that I like at most is the Ferrari F430.

I have to say Mustang, I just love it

the vette you have class power with the torque to match . and style. and on top of that you get a good base price. when the mods come out for the scion T1 is going to be the line between the civic and the tiburon but with more style IMO and you know I could be right. and the BMW M5 seems to be more of a family car then a concept or sports car. but let me see what others think about this. pluse stats for at least few of the cars might help I will try to get some myself. :)

Either the M5 or the Porsche 911 Turbo. Well, the American cars are not coming out in where I am so I really can't say I'm looking towards it, since I'm never going to see it, but the M5 and the 911 Turbo are really in a league of their own. The M5 because of the increased pressure from MB and Audi and their high-performance sedans. The M5 will also be the best BMW so far, and it will show everyone how good they really are.

The 911 Turbo as well, since it is a revival of the best car in the world, the 996 911 Turbo. And since the 911 has become a classic and a pure driving sensation, the Turbo should be able to knock off the 430 Modena and the Gallardo, it's competitors and show how good Porsche really is.

Cherverolet Corvette C6 - Great looks with power to match, but it's becoming a mixed breed of luxury and sports, and straying from its purebread heritage.

Porsche 997 (turbo next year) - Should be the better than the past models from what I've heard, but the styling is not as appealing, although I'm sure the track times will erase that from my mind..

BMW M5 - V10?!? This car is going to be INSANE! The styling is top-notch, the power is better than it has ever been, but that horrible I-Drive is keeping it from glory..

Ford Mustang - Is there anything good about this car? There is one good factor.. it has slightly more horsepower. Ford has made an attempt at binging back the retro looks, but they fell short.. waaay short..

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - Good looks, good power, great quality, but for some reason I'm not impressed with this car..

Mercedes Benz SLK class - Haven't heard/seen much about this car (class) but from Mercede's history I'm sure it will be as good as it has been all these years..

Pontiac Solstice - I'm pretty excited about this car because GM is finally coming out with a car that I can appreciate, light, small, short, small engine, but good performance. It's just a shame that its coming from Pontiac.

Saab 92x - A ripoff of the Subaru wagon, I don't care much for it. Its slightly better, but anyone can steal a design and improve on it.

Scion Tc - 160hp? Amazing interior? Quality wheels? A/C? 6 speaker audio system with CD changer? Dealer installed supercharger that boosts it up to 200hp at my request? $19,000? My pick.

Cherverolet Corvette C6 - Nice, but not tops
Porsche 997 (turbo next year) - Yes, I LOVE this car, but not necessarily the best
BMW M5 - I will never stop drooling over this car... but is it best... possibly :?
Ford Mustang - not really no...
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - I saw 4 of these on vacation, nice, but I wouldn't want one
Mercedes Benz SLK class - nice in black and AMG, but no
Pontiac Solstice - what? I will never see one probably
Saab 92x - the Saabaru, dont like
Scion Tc - nice, but not for best car
other - Yes, I choose the Murcielago Barchetta (MY05) why? because its so crazy I love it :D

2nd is the M5 and 3rd the Porsche 997

i say the solstice will be a revolution. It's a small and fast car for an inexpensive price. It's going to be the new fad i think. It's starting to look that way with the scion and such.

Ghalos
Sep 06, 2004, 8:36 PM
Ditto, the Solstice is completely new. The other cars are all evolutions of previous one's, excluding the 612 and tC, oh, and the Saab is just a WRX.
The Solstice should, in theory, be the next Miata, and god knows that was revolutionary for its time!

From the list either the Saab, the Stang, the Porsche or the Vette. But I'm really looking forward to a new GTS coupe possibly in 2006.

Its cool and I like it (just read my post above) but Ghalos is right, and I just realized that the Solstice is pretty unique (so I thought), but its just another version of the Miata and the MR2 Spyder. I was looking up the specs, and the MR2 only weighs 2,195 lbs.! :o The Solstice weighs 2,860 (est). :?

That's true, but it's not a Miata, in configuration and mission it is. But the fact that an American manufacturer is coming out with a small, nimble, lightweight, peppy roadster is something pretty darn different imo. And as far as it comin' from Pontiac, who cares?? It's being built and that's good enough for me. 8) BTW, while in "hot"lanta, I saw a Black Corvette C6 Coupe, OH GOD!!!!!!

Cherverolet Corvette C6 - definetely a lot of hype.. would be the best, but, theres somethign better in this list

Porsche 997 (turbo next year)- meh... nice, but not all the way there

BMW M5 - AND HERE'S MY WINNER!! 5 liter V10, 507 HP 490 ft-lbs tq.... 7 speed SMG.. what more coudl you want?

Ford Mustang- ewww....

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti- meh....not that great

Mercedes Benz SLK class- definetely a good improvement over the old one, but not as drastic as the M5, or the C6

Pontiac Solstice- :|

Saab 92x- uh.. a saabaru?? not that great

Scion Tc- new celica i guess... much prefer the old one, but this one's got decent room at least

So there you have it... M5 is the winner!

I dont think the F430 comes out this year or next does it?

According to the car magazine Auto Bild, the sale of the F430 should begin in the Spring 2005.

Yes, I know one or two people on another forum who are expecting delivery of their cars in April/May next year.

Also, the F430 can be included regardless if it is delivery for 2005 or 2006, because the title of the post is "Best new car or version in the next two years"

suggesting that anycar destined for the 2007 MY can be included since we are now receiving delivery of 2005MY.... :D

I'd say the C6 or the Mustang and I'm not trying to be biased. I mean the 997 is just a small redesign in comparison to these. I mean first new chassis for the Mustang in 2343 years and the next gen Vette is always a big deal. The M5 will be great but I'm just not amped up for it like the C6 and new Stang. Also I could care less about the Scion and I think the Pontiac will be easily over shadowed by other new cars.

I have one major complaint thought... is it just me or do the Mustang's engines suck?
I mean only 202hp out of a 4 liter V-6, come on! But then again the old stock engine sucked as well...hmmm

I'd say ditching the 5.7 liter LT1 is a pretty big deal, but then again the 997 has a new engine as well right? Hmmm I guess I take that back then. But I still think the Corvette is a more major redesign in terms of styling than the 997. That may just be me...

197bhp, and 228lbs/ft of torque, even with that, it was pretty quick. I drove my dad's a number of times, beat a bunch of modded (by modded, I mean rice-boys) cars at lights too.

Hahahaha...true, true, but he had a good reason to buy the V-6 one over the V8 GT...Gas mileage, he drives 40 miles each way to work, 5 days a week. That's right, every week my dad does about 400 miles of driving. Luckily it's mostly at 75 mph. So spending more on gas was a major concern. Besides, he's retiring in about 5 years and he and my mom are lookin' in the British direction of cars. Rhymes with "FASTON-FMARTIN" hehehe...talk about an upgrade... :smt038

Actually the 997 has no real engine change just the beefed it up from 315 to 325 what they worked on the most was front end aerodynamics. The 996 had bad high speed stability but the 997 is said to have much better High speed stability.

Right, right. How quickly I've forgotten, they just bored the engine out for the S to 3.6 liters(or was it 3.4? I cant remember and dont really care). I've got it now... And so my opinion still stands that the C6 is more of a redesign than the 997.
