Wow man, this is a hell of a comparo... :D
I'd drop the Porsche because it doesn't exactly fit the definition of a "Autobahn cruiser" and I'm not fond of the styling too...
The one I would choose is the 500 SEC, in spite of the old tech engine. With a slight tuning and headers you could easily pull 350-400 HP. The styling is WICKED, one the most beautiful Benzs ever. Now THIS is what I call a cruiser... you could be travelling at 180 km/h for hours and never get tired. :)
Drawback for me: HUGE dimentions, but I'm not sure if you care much for that where you live...

the porsche is very much a touring car, it was created for a 2 pronged attack on the market with the 944 for pure sports

i dont want to drive an Porsche on the german Autobahn in the 80 because that 60% off Autobahn where made off cement and not asphalt !
so i go for the 190E 2.5 16V :-)

Hahahaha...niiiiice Every thing else bar a tank will come off second best in a crash

Not because of that, but because of the 5 liter engine, styling, the fact that you can use that ALL the time for ANYthing. So I'd say the Mercedes 500SEC.
As for the interior, all you really need to be comfy and have a good time are some sweet tunes and for that, any reasonably good stereo shop can hook up a mean system for like 2 grand.

The 500SEC.

1) It looks like an Autobahn cruiser while its sitting still(Great looks compared to that Porsche.. ). 2) Hella comfortable, quiet, roomy interior. 3) Tons of tuning capability for very low cost. 4) It will tend to run at lower RPMs because of the larger displacement. 5) I could run that thing at 120 mph untill it breaks down because of the way it drives. 6) Its a Benz coupe.

For styling I'd go with the 190E then the M535. For performance the 500 with some nice mods.

Wow.. nice comparo.. anyway, i'd choose the porsche, simply because it's a porsche, or otherwise, if i felt like i needed even more comfort, the 500SEC, or 6 series... :|

Most 6s were optioned front spoiler as shown in the picture but cause they dont look anywere as good without it. The 6 and 500 suffered badly from the no damage at 10 mph rule so had big bumpers in the states. The M5 and 190 came with the kits shown but unluckly pull high insurence and get you pulledover by the cops by clockwork. I haven't seen to many kits for every but the 500 with has a few real class acts for sale for it.
Koenig make a pretty good widebody kit http://www.koenig-specials.com/mercedes/mb-w126sec.html#
Ive seen a few others so ill post them when i find them[/img]

The problem is the time and money i would need to put in (flowing heads and supercharger) to get some proper power out of the thing
