In the winter tests we saw, without doubt, a very strong Scuderia Ferrari, then the fastest team of the plateau. but since the Australian GP, McLaren Mercedes seems to have closed the gap. even more, in today's Monaco Grand-Prix they looked head and shoulders over all the others (Massa was the only driver that wasn't given a lap by the McLaren boys !). so I thought about making a poll to see what you guys think about this progression and what are the current standings between the two teams.
Do you think that Ferrari still has the edge (but the particularity of this track and the Scuderia's misfortunes/drivers mistakes are to blame), that McLaren is now clearly on top (as the championship standings suggest) or that McLaren and Ferrari are quite leveled now (they are the two top-teams, then there's the others) ?

I think they are both strong, to be honest. Both have shown what they can do, and so far, Ferrari what they can't. There will be days where the McLarens fail, there will be days which work out just fine..yano, it's a balance. I don't think anyone can positively say which one is better, they are just different in strategy and ideas.

Alonso did. Hamilton was (a close) second and Massa third (the grid positions)... a distant third, over a minute behind Alonso.

Well ferrari said they are going to improve the car a little more befroe canada. So on the day of canada i'd say they'll be equal as it gets. Though my prediction is that McLaren will win the constructors championship, while massa will win the Drivers.

Lol, don't worry, it's ok.:)
Anyways i think both teams are pretty even. Each different track suits a particular team. For example, Ferrari dominated in Australia, Bahrain and Spain, but Mclaren dominated in Malaysia and Monaco.
The reason why Mclaren have less wins but has more points driver and constructor wise is because they have been consistent during the first 5 races where as Ferrari have been hampered with reliability issues. If Ferrari was more reliable then they would be way ahead.
But for now they are even in my opinion...

They're as even as it gets, basically. As it's been said, each different track suits each different driver. Long, flowing circuits will favour the Ferrari, and tight twisty ones will favour the McLaren.
In the next two races I think Ferrari will have the upper hand, and plus they have a few new parts coming to the car aswell.
It could be that McLaren's dominance on Sunday was masked by the car's suiting to the track, but we'll never know until we get to Montreal and the USA.
