Hmm, not the best car to chop but it's still ok i guess, i'll have a go when i have time. And E-TEC, thats a brilliant chop, i love the green and the front lip spoiler. The rims and anime vinyls aren't too bad either.

But there are a few errors. The rims around the edge look messy, the hood vinyls looks pixelated and you colored in the indicators, you might have purposely done it but i prefer them orange. But anyways thats a nice chop, well done!

Oh darn, I don't like the original. The background is going to be tough to lasso and all that and the angle is not like normal cars. But still, on the other hand, the good thing is that the car isn't a hard one like last week's PScomp. that car was hard to work on. anyway, this one should be fun to work on. look forward to it.

Yeah, the rims I'm still trying to get the hang of transplanting. Probably if I hadn't colored them, they would've showed less of the rough white specs. As for the indicators, I had used Color Range to select the body so the lights ended up being selected as well (I deselected the background but I neglected the lights).

There are a few errors and the rims are unnaturally black. Play around with the hue/saturation for a better effect. Nice ideas though.

Sonic, Love the tuner look, im not too big on the chopping though. Two,quick, small things you should look at. The bumper, i can see trough it, and the vinyls, they seemto be uncurved/ unblended well. Ill give a more suggestions tomorrow

Ferrari Underground
May 03, 2007, 3:00 AM
Ok.

@Sonic, I don't really like your one, I like it but not as much. The front bumper like Nivlek said is transparent, maybe you forgot to adjust the opacity level... anyway, your chop doesn't look that realistic, like the flame vynil, and also there isn't the door line going through it which means it looks like a sticker lol... and your background doesn't look as good because the car is on concrete, and when you slowly move your eyes up you suddenly see sand and a desert... and the old reflection from the original is still on your chop... but overall I like the tuner look and it looks good. not normally your kind of chops though.

@ Audi.RS4, that looks funny as. Lol, a 'Cars' design on a '94 Supra... hahaha... looks funny and weird.... but it looks good on it, not something you would normally see... lol.

^^Thats a good chop. I say the best part about it is the vinyls, they look great. The rims are also very nice and so is the background as well. But there are also a few errors. If you look on the side vent, the vinyl overlaps it, there are also bits of red around the car but thats alright since you have to look hard to spot them.

Ferrari Underground
May 04, 2007, 7:08 AM
^^ I'm suggesting you go with the red, black is just too common among chops so dark red is just excellent. It stands out and has a vibrant feel to it. And the rims look alright, it doesn't really go "excellent" with the Supra but still look good anyway.

Thx for coments! and Yes Red is Better!

J.J.
May 04, 2007, 9:42 AM
Wow, much better...

the carbon fibre looks good, but perhaps you should just add the carbon bonnet and leave the front bumper...

how about this idea, carbon bonnet and carbon hood and carbon tail wing, so the top of the body is carbon and the lower part of the body is normal or gloss paint... the rims looks cool now, but can you come up with better idea than the yellow caps?? i mean the yellow caps go with the yellow brake calipers, but its abit plain..

No offence but 'side of the road' images aren't really to my taste, so I haven't entered. Sonic, the bumper is still way too blurry for the background image. The rims don't match the backgrounds dominant hue, and your colour needs to become more realistic and cleaner. The grille and bonnet vinyl are well executed, however.

@wow, well done LP640, thats a good chop. the rims look cool, ferrari's rims always make the chop look good. the colour change is good but you were a bit lazy with the lasso-ing around the front indicator, the edges could be more smooth, and you also coloured the side skirt's hole as well, the side windows look unclean, there are bits of red and other colours around them. and you also coloured the indicator just left to the front wheel. you also have a thin red outline on the car but that's alright, it's hard to notice them, just make sure you lasso right around the edge. but apart from all those errors, well done, ncie paint selection and the nice rims.

@ altova, your side skirt looks 2D. fix that up and your fine.

Ferrari Underground
May 05, 2007, 5:22 AM
^^ you managed to get his back on the wall there... lol...

@ GT King, wow, well done, the chop looks really good, but here are the errors:

- rims look blurry, and I think you've used those rims before in another chop I can't remember.
- there is a visible small red line going along the bottom of the front bumper, change it to blue or get rid of it.
- a bit of red on the far left side mirror (furthest away)

and thats about it.

i recommend changing the caliper colour, red on blue paint job looks a bit weird. and oh nice lexus lights for the front indicators, well done on that.

And @ Sonicasg's chop, aren't those rims from the Hamman Ferrari F430? I used those rims for my S2000 Chop.

well done, the excessive amount of the rain effect makes it hard to spot your errors amongst your chop. But it's good overall.

your chop's vynil has a bit going over the mirror, make sure you rid that. and try and blend in the vynil a bit better, it looks like its just floating there. anyway nice chop the ferrari rims are good

Here's my entry, don't use my previous chop!!! this is my final piece... Hope it does well. Any critisisms, comments, and feedback will be gladly accepted! all of the members with the rain effect in their chops, you need to brush or somehow get the effect of the water hitting the surface, some reflective stuff on the ground for some water puddles, or darken the picture a little bit more. i think this is a pretty hard picture to work on because i didnt see most of the quality before when i saw these chops, but some of them are pretty good, no poor jobs, but they are not that good compared to the ones before...

but wow, all good chops, juts some edges and some little bits to fix

and ferrari underground, i love your paintjob...

first off, thanks for the comment.... The flame vynil looks good eh...

Anyway, as for the top bold print, is there actually a way to put puddles and water droplets hitting the car? if there was, I would definitely do it, I've been on digimods and all but they never said anything about reflections, water droplets hitting the car, puddles etc... But the rain just by itself looks good anyway, it looks realistic enough as it is.

Yeah i know, i should add the puddles, rain droplets etc etc, but i dunno how to do it, I've looked on digimods and they don't say it either, i guess its because something like that is hard to emulate or produce through ps.

Robbie
May 05, 2007, 7:50 AM
i wont be working on chops for awhile on paint, im working on these so called pixel cars...which i found that its awsomely cool, i mean, you make carbon fibre, im making a whole CF car, im making coupe covnertions, im making short versions of hatch backs, im making convertibles, im even doing bodykit convertion, like putting an DC2 integra type r front end into a civic type R front end...and its awsomely fun, its a pretty big challenge

^^ wow, nice pic there, it really shows the water drizzle effect or whatever it is... As you can see in the pic, probably you need to add some small white lines at the end of the rain drop as it hits the car, but it would take pretty damn long to do that, and us SCF'ers usually dont have the patience and time to do such things...

the rain looks so realistic in the pic above, if only we knew how... :-k

What if you were to put that picture onto the car and put it on an acceptable layer setting. also the ground needs to look wet. Thats hard :p .

I might be lazy and not enter. And now a suggestion for everyone:
Try and keep the paint real. This car seems to dislike colour changes. If you keep your colour simple, it will look more real but it will look boring. Make yours bright and vibrant, you make your car have this metallic, unreal look too it. You gotta find a good compromise to get my vote. Or a really strong photomop

@ birger, well, its okay, well first off, the rims, they are off on the front, you need to change the direction of the tires are pointing, colour looks okay, i dont care if its stock, im cant be fked to look back 1 page, the background looks okay, and the window tint is abit messy, otherwise..very nice

@ jamesy, well, atleast you tried...

@ nivlek, i think thats what im going to vote for...just kidding, anyways, hmm, youve been complaining on bright lenses on chops, and you have done it yourself...bah, that swift looks quite good...im waiting for it in the Photoshop thread
