yess gumball is were you can see the real sports cars in real conditions, not in the track, in the public road is where you really see how a car works, it's incredible seeing all those cars through public roads.

It's pretty much gona be called off.
Two fellas spun their porsche and hit another car, killed the fella and his wife is critical. They Ran Away, and tried to leave the country.
They both got arrested. Alex Roy (Polizei) has decided to step out of the rally this year. Mark were you were when this happened folks, this could be the last ever gumball.

It's officially over for this year:
Issued by Maximillion Cooper on behalf of The Gumball 3000 Rally - 21.30 / 03 May 2007
Following our earlier release reporting yesterday’s accident - As a sign of respect we have decided that this year's Gumball 3000 Rally will not travel any further and will end in Bratislava this evening, May 3rd 2007.
As the organisers of the rally we feel that it should be stopped as a mark of respect to Vladimir Cepulyoski who died today after an accident involving one the participating drivers.
We are very saddened by what has happened and feel that it would be wrong to continue. On behalf of Gumball 3000, we once again extend our deepest sympathies to his family and we are doing everything we can for them.
This is the first time anything like this has happened in 9 years of travelling through over 40 countries with 1000's of drivers and it is with deep regret that I make this announcement.
Maximillion Cooper
Founder & CEO
The Gumball 3000 Group
I think this will also be the last Gumball. Here in the Netherlands they're trying to make a new law to forbid these kind of rallys. There already is a law in Germany, and I think other country's will follow.
I went to the checkpoint in Amsterdam, and it was pretty damn awesome. I'll post some pictures later.

I only just saw the same Porsche 911 Turbo in the clip yesterday, and i was saying to myself it reminds me of one of my toy car i used to have, and sadly accident happened... and worst thing is it involved innocent people and claimed his life... really sad...
So they are officially closing the whole GUMBALL 3000 event?? is there gonna be another one later? or are they closing the event for good???

well, different people have different kind of views, I see it as you get to push your car to the limit and see what that thing can do... theres no way you can test your car to the limit on a normal highway, so they have to take advantage to such event... safety is a very big issue as they are putting innocent people at risk, perhaps they should close certain highways for them to go pass, then re-open them for public use...

so if you had a supercar you wouldnt think of speeding right? i have not read a post as ignorant as that since neo was here, the truth is a lot of the drivers can drive fast, they can afford murchelago's enzo's and veyrons and they can afford track days and most of them do. everybody said that when that eddie guy from redline crashed the enzo, rich people cant drive, i would put every penny i have on saying he would whoop 99% of this forums population around any track without trying, the driver in the spoken of 911 was an ex pro racer and knows how to handle a car, if monkeyfkkr crashed a enzo would you say he was a immature w*anker who cant drive?

Damn you really got me there. No I wouldn't say monkey was if he crashed an Enzo. It would never happan. Yep thats the best I can come back with.
And yes I bet you would think that if I was in a supercar I would think of speeding because your opinion of me is that i'm some immature teenager. If you do you do not know me at all. You can still have fun in a car when under the speed limit you know. And where the hell did that post come from when all I said was that it was full of people thinking that they can break the law because they're rich?

Why would it never happen? it only takes one slip to spin out, nobody is a perfect driver

i respect you as a member and dont think your an immature teenager, but with all due respect you have not had enough driving experience to judge somebody for losing control of a car weather he is rich or not. and the post i quoted was post 17 up there ^^^^

Yes and I do agree (with the bolded text), and i'm not going to go against that. Btw yeah I have had no driving experience, unless you count 4 years of professional go-karting. But thats hardly driving. I guess I can't answer your post until I have had driving experience.

thats right, there is nothing wrong with it, whats wrong with like minded people travelling across europe staying in top hotels with beautiful woman and cars?
he wasn't saying it wouldn't have happened, he was just saying because they're rich they think they can break the law...
but thats not how it is, wealth has nothing to do with it, a 15yr old who took his dads car, a 19yr old in a riced civic, or a 40yr old in a murchelago, all of these people have an opportunity at some point to speed, and most do, some get caught, some dont, but the guy in the lambo gets singled out because he has done well in life?
if it was a 30yr old guy in a people carrier who caused the accident people would think nothing of it and im pretty sure it would not be posted here, same if it was a civic and a young driver.
im tired of reading the bull***** posts from kids saying "rich people cant drive!" why the hell can rich poeple not drive? the same thing happened when a guy totalled his carrera gt on a track and killed himself and his passenger, i bet any money he would out run 99% of the people on here in any car on a track, if anything rich car enthusiasts will be better drivers as they can afford track days and supercars to learn to drive fast.

Two people dead.....I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing got called off now. Maybe some special events in the future, but the 3000 future is definitely in jeopardy now.

It was rubbish ?
But I think this is all stupid. It's not the crashing that gets me. It's the utter desperation and pathetic orientation of the two drivers involved. They killed a man, so ran for the border. How shameful is that ? How do people like that not realise in this day and age your entire reputation can be brought down in a matter of minutes ? After they had stopped thinking about themselves, what about the people in the car ? It says in the highway code you have to stop and help people who are in trouble. Pathetic and bring shame to the British.
Next, sayin rich people can't drive is stupid. I dare say the percentage of people on the Gumball will have had some form of driver training. Or, a lot more driving experience than most. Saying there is a correlation between how much money you have, and how well you can drive, is silly. Look at Michael Schumacher. Nobody even knows how much money he has, he just shouts, "KERCHHHHING, KERRRRCHHHHHHHHINNNNG !!!!!!!!!" at everyone. A correlation between how much money they have and how well they think they can drive is a much better thing to say.
However, is this the end of the Gumball ? Unlikely really. If they cancelled everything where someone died, we wouldn't be able to do anything in life really. People die everyday because of other peoples stupid mistakes, or in this case possibly not even there fault, but people don't make noise about it. In the current climate though, this is a massively easy target. Cars cause global warming, and the Gumball is unneccesary driving. BoooooooooO ! we here them cry from the rafters............. It's looking dangerous, it's looking dangerous. It won't get closed down because someone died, it might go down for some very seperate reasons.
