Most likely the Maserati MC12 Corsa

I'm gonna go with the Corvette only because I'm an American and I love that it kicked some serious ass in a basically European sport.
In all honesty though, it's either the Aston Martin or the Corvette. I forget which one did better. I'm pretty sure it's one of those two. Reason: They don't break the hell down.

Aston Martin DBR9
Vectra GTS
Apr 26, 2007, 6:46 AM
The AM DBR9
Once a driver see one of them in their rear vision mirror, they'll slow down and let it pass so they can have a better view of it.
according to the ACO the Maserati ain't a GT1....
but the best looking car is defently the AM DBR9, and probly the one, there would be fastest if Prodrive had the same budget as GM..
But all in all.... The C6.R is the fastest, the best team, the best drivers and the biggest budget!

Most likely the Maserati MC12 Corsa
The MC12 Corsa is the Trackday Special (If that's what you call it) version of the MC12, not the race car. It's to the MC12 what the FXX is to the Enzo.
But yeah, I'd say the MC12 GT1 is the best of the current cars

the mc12 cause it looks the part and its not bad in race conditions

You read my mind. Corvette did better as Sebring, they took first and second and Aston got third, for GT1, so I think Corvette is better. I'd eat my own balls of a Corvette doesn't get in the top five at Lemans this season. I think there are supposed to be like 30 GT1 cars, so top five is pretty good.

You guys do know that the Maserati actually did quite TERRIBLE in actual races right?
Just to let you guys know, just because it LOOKS the fastest, doesn't mean it goes the fastest.

If I knnew anybody who followed Le mans I'd bet $100 on a top five finish for GT1 by a corvette. They will spank apply ointment and spank again.

The best GT1 car is the Corvette C6R. In American Lemans you have really no other car competing but by saying it wins every American race does not mean it is the best. So when looking abroad the Corvette is a large asmount of competitors and is in fact winning races against the tough competition of the European LeMans division. So because it does that I say it is the best, and of course it is one of the best looking racecars on the planet.
If you take a look at the 24 in France during the last few years, you can clearly see that the C5s and C6s dominated their classes and took the checkers first. The only problem is that when they come back to the USA there is 0 competition so they don't really have to try hard, and I think that hurts them. It was great when we had the DBR9s competing every race and giving the Vettes a run for their money in some races, now it is just absurdly boring and stupid no one races against them.
There may be hope in the future though because there is some speculation that the Vette boys may start racing GT2 against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, and BMW.
So basically here statistically they are the best, in Europe they are very good, but may not be the best team all the time. All I know is when it comes time to the 24 the Vette teams will have plenty of "practice" races under their belts here.
The S7R no longer runs here but abroad it does well from what I have heard.
The MC12 was really so fast that they had to detune the car in order for the competition not to cry, true story. So now with all the restrictions on their cars they can't stretch their true ability.
The DBR9 is quite a good looking machine that does posess speed on most occasions yet has had some reliability issues along the way. I look forward to the return of a factory backed effort by Aston here in the American Lemans series, otherwise it is going to be a snooze fest for the entire year. Abroad the Astons show immense ability and should give the Vettes some good competition come June.
The funny thing in all of this is that there are some teams over in Europe that run the old C5R and are still seeing results that are very positive and are sometimes embarrassing to the competition with their "new" cars.
All I can do is hope that Ferrari comes into the mix with a 599 GT1, Lambo with a LP640 GT1, and maybe some other team say perhaps a Spyker moving up into GT1 but I doubt that considering they already run teams in GT2 and in F1.

DBR9, looks the best undoubtedly, and I like it. Performs great but did have a few relability issues in the past few races, but all will be well.

I'm a die hard fan of the Aston Martin. True they've had some troubles in the past but they are stunningly beautiful cars, they sound great and I'm cheering for them non-stop.

I'm glad Aston Martin is now owned by a British marque - Ford didn't do them justice. I'm saying the DBR9 - its Prodrive-driven heaven.

SO true.

clutch; the Vettes continue to race against each other (and lower lap times from last year) in ALMS. Are the Aston-Martins spanking what competition in LMES?
In their 18th year, Pratt & Miller Racing didn't just fall off a (small block powered) turnip truck. They learn from their mistakes (diff?). They will be ON at LeMans!
Ferrari is kicking butt in ALMS GT2! I'd like to see some factory engineering support for potential GT1 LeMans entrants.
-----
Lets REALLY stir the puddin'...; except for the engine, a C6 Corvette is MORE advanced than a FR Ferrari!

Like ATL is that connected with it either...:p
C6R, Dyson Racing to be exact. They're financed via the Dyson family which is located about 5 miles from where I grew up.:)

From your perspective, we are all inbred knuckle draggers. I assure you ATL is not suffering the geriatrification of Flawda.

Ohhh, we don't think thaaat, hell, I've got family down there.
As for Dyson Racing:

They're based 10 minutes from where I grew up. Come to think of it, I think they run LMP's, and there's a local C6R driver, got the two confused.

the DBR9 and C6-R are both extremely great cars. however, i'm guessing the DBR9 is a slight bit faster, due to its 30bhp advantage (it has 600bhp, the C6-R has 570). this time Le Mans i'll bet one of Aston Martin's own DBR9's will take the lead for the GT1 class :p

You mean because now, it dominating everyone else is just a day to day thing? Or because it's just so damn good that you're mad at it? I don't see what you mean.

I like that :) it's true too.
But back onto the Corvette. They might not being trying as hard because I honestly don't think they have to. They are no longer the rebel American team trying to forge it's way into a Euro dominated sport. They've already proven themselves, time and time again. Once you've proved that you got the stones to whoop some ass, you don't need to prove it again. You just go out and destroy and don't make a big deal out of it.

Evo power; I understand what you are saying. Keep in mind that there have not been "factory/manufacturer" racing teams in the US for decades. Carmakers know how to design/build trick/kewl stuff. They do not know how to race. GM may provide trick new parts/tech support; but GM could not win LeMans from scratch with an in-house effort this year if they spent $20million.
The GT1 Vettes are built/run by Pratt & Miller Racing. They have been around for 18 years. They know how to win; and for sure they learn from their mistakes. Weeds will not grow tall under them.
Meanwhile; they put on a 2-Vette GT1 show for Doc Panoz's "European style multi-class racing" at ALMS events.

Please; somebody tell me what A-M is doing in LMES or wherever they are racing.
