These are the latest pictures of the stunning BMW M6 coupe, and its coming in a convertable as well, and a CSL in a few years  while I 'like' the 6-series, I wouldn't buy one, but I might consider these sports 6's :D

This will feature an engine from a new M5 of modular units, a 40-valve 5.5-litre V10 with an estimated 500bhp. This engine will also feature in the upcoming M5. Acceleration 0-100 km/h is predicted to be well below five seconds, and top speed over 300 km/h, though this is likely to be electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The M6's suspension will be similar to that of the M5, much lower and stiffer than that of the 645i, and there is likely to be the option of six-speed manual or six-speed auto transmission. It won't be the quickest 6, however: a lightweight M6 CSL with carbon-fibre panels and an extra 50bhp is also tipped to be on the way, though not for at least three years. The 'standard' M6 coupe is expected to be launched in 2005, with convertible versions following

It sounds cool, but i wish the car would look better. I really do not like the car

I'm not sure if it is a gentlemens agreement, I think it's a kind of a law for German cars.
And a small correction for Subarukid, the V10 engine will be 5.0 lt.
The car is gonna rock the world. I haven't decided which one I like the best, this one or the M5... :-k

Yeah man it would probably rock the world. But how many would actually afford this car? The 645 Ci is already very expensive so you gotta have deep pockets for this car. I would prefer with no hezitation the new M3 and do some work to the engine and save the extra money. I still prefer a lighter car with lower hp figures and then throw in a few bucks raise the figures as much as i can and then play with it. I mean you can give me a merc s klasse with 700 hp and i can asure you it cand't compare the feeling with an M3 with 400 hp or so or with a superchrged S2000 but that is only my opinion and my way of thinking at least till i rech 40-50 years old. :D

I agree with you. I'd probably prefer the M3 too. It is also more compact and easier to cope with.

It's bad news when you're trying to pack for a trip though. I'd rather the larger car, more interior space and more cargo space and still very good performance.

I was just wondering... have you ever went more than 250 km/h...?
Nope, and I don't think you ever will. :)
You can easily remove the limiters anyway.

I don't think you can. It's electronically limited in BMW's so it is a bugger to remove.
But how many would actually afford this car?
Considering how many people are rich and are able to afford cars which are so much more expensive than this already expensive car, I think the answer to that is LOTS and LOTS!!

it is easy, simply "edit" the onboard computer, which can be done at BMW dealers, or most race-prepping places

if you take aweay the speed limiters you lose your insurance and warranty on the car and the make the car illegal to drive (in sweden)

 not here :D you only lose the warranty, the car is still legal, and you must notify the insurance company so that they know, but depending on who you are insured with will depend on wether they charge you a little bit more per year.

But many times you need to proof that you can handle the car

Yeah, for mercedes to do it and audi as well, you need a specific type of racing license...I don't know which one, but I know that's one of the requirements.

NOONE needs to know that you removed the limiter... you can always find a "friend" with a garage or sth who knows how to edit computers.
The only possibility is that the BMW dealer could find out that you did it the next time you bring your car for a service or an oil change.
But still, I repeat, you will never run with more than 250 km/h more than like once in your life anyway. So IMO there's no point in removing the limiter. Personally I wouldn't do it.

He prolly thinks if the limiter is on, it'll slow the acceleration of the car.

About the limiter i think it's more like smth psihical. I mean your car is somehow restrained when it hits 250km/h. And that's not a nice thought. And for every one and a while it may happen to get an good, open road and make a subject and talk to your friends how you went with 270 km/h in your bmw. And bout the warranty of the car, yes i think jim is right. Still a very very fast car and a very very expensive one also.
