KBB it for the year, then do some math, how much work/money has been put into it versus how much that adds to the original price. Then subtract the replacement/ repairs that'll need to be done for it to be in "good" (via KBB's definition) condition...

That should be a good idea of how much it's worth.

Then, place an ad for a $1,500 more, gives you plenty of bargaining room.

BTW, my dad's got an '01 V6 Mustang in perfect condition, all the good options, same mileage, his would bring in about 8 grand.
