Exclamation How to write a "What should I buy?" thread...

This guide will help you write a "What should I buy?" thread...

First part:
The reason behind the comparison.

Ex:
"I'm a 22 year old college student, with a special spot for cruising. I want a car that has an open top, reasonable power, and if not a gutsy engine, a low weight to make the most of it. I also don't care about taking it to a track, I need it for day-to-day driving in a city, a manual is ok since I know how to operate a clutch and gearshifter properly. Recently I sold my car/ got into an accident/ need a newer/ different car."

Second Part:
Amount you're willing to spend, what currency you use, and where you are from. The first part is straightforward, however, because Sportscarforums is a largely international enthusiasts website, we often come into the case of exchange rates. The third part is a major issue, we can't offer suggestions for cars that aren't sold in to us, or to you, as such, we need to know where the car is going to end up.

Third Part:
Wants vs. Needs, and the trade-off factor...

You may think you *need* a 200bhp engine with a
7,000rpm redline, but that isn't the case. State what is crucial, or a major concern in your buying process, for example:
You need good gas mileage, give us a number!! Some people may think 21mpg is ok, when you think 30mpg is the minimum that you'll accept.

Finally, what is it you're willing to trade off, needs, for wants?
