Well seeing as those issues have already had a recall sent out on them, looks like they already fixed the problem. Way to go Triumph.

Well considering each of those have been a recall sent out every year since 2002 and the 600...I'd say they haven't fixed anything No that's not true..SOME of the recalls have popped their head up in say 2003 went away for 2004-2005-2006 then came back in like 2008 on the new gen bike..
but the regulator recall hit the mailing system in 2002 for the Daytona 600...continued into the Dayrona 650..and on up to the daytona 675....10 years of the same problem triumph just can't fix.

For the 2011 and 2012 model they now have THAT problem, along with the purge valve, along with bad software causing random stalling, a little side order of harness/generator problems killing new batteries in 2 days....annd icing on the cake being the the Kill-switch's spiking and frying the ECU all together

Looking at the Ducati recalls..they have their share too...but they all seem to be traced back to 1-2 sources...of which probably happened when choosing a parts distributor..

1 Fuel lines on a few of the bikes can exhibit micro-cracks over time ...2..Wrong bolt chosen in rear arm on the Panigale...

I ride with / track with at least a dozen Trumpy riders and only one of them has ever had problems. Another one of them is a mechanic at a Suzuki/Triumph dealer who says Suzukis tend to be even more troublesome. Which is totally plausible, given that a bulk of Triumph's parts manufacturing is outsourced to the Japs.

The only bad story I've heard about a Trumpy was the ex's dad getting knocked off his Bonnie by a girl on her probationary license.

Mostly. 3 years of complications later and he's still standing, albeit with a cane.

That's good to hear. Hey that reminds me, what exactly was the final outcome of your accident?

Your bike get written off? You have any long term problems or anything?

Not even. The bike and I have a couple of scars but that's all. The crash knob saved the fairing, the frame/bars/etc didn't give a damn (it's a race bike, and my gear saved all but a patch of flesh on my right hip.

Best bit about 600s, apart from all the aftermarket upgrades, the crazy handling and the laughably negligent fuel bills, is their near-invincibility.

That's a neat bike. I wish I had one. It's a total nerd bike though, as are all BMW's.

Too much power for you i suppose...sucks to be you gellato man...

Anywho I can't say i'm big on the hp4 for WHAT it is, but i understand the need for it..

Since BMW released a 1000R WITHOUT all the "electronic nannies" they needed to release one that came standard with all of them, AND one that puts BMW's electronic technowizardry back at the fore-front..

When the bmw1000 came out it was like "wow cool nanies let you hit the gas in a puddle and not die" but a year later they're old and slow...but they revamped them pretty good again, allowing for full power in ANY mode at any time and compensating appropriately.

There are two companies that I have massive respect for, and both started off making motorcycles.

One I really love, one I just respect...except for the bikes.

Boy, them damn Bavarians know how to make a motorcycle. I love me a BMW motorcycle, unequivocally.

Companies that started off on two wheels are the best.

I never said anything about their capabilities. It's one of the best engineered bikes on the planet, hands down. I'd also love to have one, and it would be a blast to ride.

But it's a nerd bike. As all BMW's are.
