2014 Aston Martin DBS Previewed in AM 310 Concept – Videos

It might sport the word ‘Concept’ in its name, but the Aston Martin AM 310 is essentially a pre-production model of the new DBS due to go on sale worldwide early next year.

The British luxury automaker headed to this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza out at Lake Como in Italy to unveil the AM 310 Concept, sporting stylish body lines that have been undoubtedly influenced by the One-77. The DBS replacement looks to be bolder and more aggressive, but only time will tell if Aston Martin tames it down before its production model release.
One can expect a lot of carbon fiber however, and for now Aston Martin has revealed that the AM 310 is powered by a 6.0-liter V12. We recently spied the 2014 Aston Martin DBS out at the ‘Ring and we do know that it’ll have a V12 under the hood when it makes it into production.

It's not visual changes the car needed to keep up with the competition.

It was behind when it was released but had performance levels which were 'acceptable' at best, however it sold because it was a good-looking GT car.

Now they've made it kinda ugly, and it utilises the same chassis. There's only so many chassis revisions the company can do to try and keep up with the game.

Bez has already announced that he expects this platform (DB9 & Vantage share the same) to last until 2020.

2020? F*ck it needs replacing 5 years ago.

It's true, the chassis is in need of replacement. With every other manufacturer (in this price bracket) working on carbon composite or similar alternative materials for chassis development it is pretty shamefull that there is still an opinion that this platform has much more life in it.

We've known for ages that AM received the funding it required to 'replace the VH' platform that has been used on virtually every model (bar the One-77 and the iQ) but when will we see it?!

It wasn't a class-leading chassis in it's conception nearly 10 years ago, it's now way behind.

got to admit.. this is a brilliant business model....

Change the bumpers slightly, put some vents on the hood, little change to the interior, and slight power increase through a tune up...

total investment 200k, and now everyone who likes astons, thinks its the coolest thing ever, and they make money.
