Which is why that one in the commercial/advert looks quite a bit different from the real lm002..

Also..the one in the video (as the prototype) was just a chryco v8..

No. The Cheetah WAS a prototype, but not a prototype of the LM002. It was their first SUV/Military venture and it failed. Then they built the LM001, which also failed. Then hey got it right with the LM002.

While they are related in that the LM002 was continuing Lamborghini's goals that started with the Cheetah, that's where the relation stops.

Except...the cheetah never made it past prototype...in which the prototype evolved into the lm001 prototype....which so never made production but remained prototype, which then became the lm002...which did make production.... Therefor the lineage of the cars was much more than inspiration.... It was phases of design on the same vehicle/goal/ desired outcome...

They never made production because they failed testing. Then they went "well this sucks, let's make a new vehicle" twice before they got the LM002. They did not build it with the intention of it being a prototype, it just sucked.

If Lotus made a car that was total sh*t as a prototype, then were like "man this blows, let's make something else for this class instead" and then made a production vehicle, that prototype wouldn't be a prototype FOR the production vehicle. It just would have been a prototype that came before the production vehicle which had similar goals but was a failure. There's a huge difference.

But none of that matters, because Tex was implying the Cheetah WAS the LM002, not a prototype.

• Rav concluded that he wanted a targa, V8 powered 4x4, go anywhere badass mobile.
• Jared thinks Lambo should go back to their roots and build the LM002/Hummer like gun toting vehicle that never was.
• Driftster infinitely prefers the era of Lamborghini under Chrysler, rather than the Audi influenced company that we know today.
