I can just imagine how crappy that speaker must sound, especially when it's located in such a place...

Is that even latched on to anything?
Did you just take the mesh off in front of the speaker and 'place' this one inside the door panel? Bolt that down to something so it wont rattle like a mofo. To the door itself, the panel, anything really is better than it just sitting there.

Dynamat would help, but there are more cost-effective ways.

I'd recommend even getting the filler can just for multi-purpose use. Nothing is worse than hearing something rattle on the stereo you just bought, its goddam annoying.
I spent a good while trying to fix my rear dash from rattling/vibrating loudly in my car. Only real problem is I can't get to the screws to tighten them, or put any kind of sound deadening material underneath of the dash without taking the sub box + amp housing out, disconnecting most of the wiring and then putting it all back together. So I just stuck a sweatshirt on the rear dash and pushed it up against the window. A temporary fix, but it works well for now. I think the main thing Apprintice needs is to take the door panel off the door and properly attach that thing, then put the mesh back over the speaker.

there are key parts on the car that will rattle..Even as much as a thick crush washer can stop the rattle in it's tracks
under anything but massive bass do you ever experience things like a "entire door panel rattling" Mostly it's the latches and loose crap. I LOVE when idiots spend 400 dollars dynamatting their entire trunk for 1 10" or 12" thinking they need it to stop the crickets.. when it allllll is sourced from that crappy U-latch that closes the trunk..litterally...6 cents in white tape will solve that, for 3 bucks you plasti-dip tha part..

Me? No. Only thing that rattles is the rear dash and I think i just need to tighten the bolts that hold it in place down a bit, but I'm too lazy to get to them.
The trunk latch doesn't rattle at all for me. I've heard cars going around campus that have that problem though.. Or the license plate is not tight and it rattles and sounds awful. Mine is pretty clean sounding. Its not a real boomy bass as it is there for the sound quality.
