its nothing new really... VW has done this sort of thing before. The Porsche 914 was a mid-engined car with a T4 VW engine from the 411/412 sedans.

WOW, a small MR sport coupe by VW and at a relativelly affordable price would be just awesome. Buty I think that it would be quite hard to be made in to production without cannibalizing the sales of the TT models and the S3 and it will certanlly not compete with the Cayman. But I persoanlly don`t care it would be awesome!

That's all I could really find...and you can't buy either of those. So it seems to me that this is most definitly something NEW as VW has NOT really done something like this before.

Rememer, Porsche =/= VW.

the VW W12 Nardo Concept WAS supposed to go into production, but they shot it down.

god, why do companies do this when they know they have a great car on their hands?

Chrysler shot down the idea to put the ME412 concept into production and become the fastest production car in the world.
