Do you remember where you saw it? I've seen a Peugeot dealership on 17-N.

And yes the Italians make cars that are filled with passion. But the musclecars embodied the American lifestyle of the 60's and 70's. I don't think you can get more passionate than that.

Alfa was sold in the US for years, though I can't quite pin down a start year. Their final year was 1995; their final model was the 164, a sport sedan intended to compete with the BMW 3-series. Alfa Spider models are fairly common and you see 164s around from time to time, though other models tend to the rare side of the market. Alfa eventually dropped out due to reliability problems; I would recommend the 164 to very many people but dealer servicing is only to be done at exotics dealers, who of course charge through the nose for routine maintenance.

Yes - the most popular Maseratis in the US previous to 2002 were the Biturbo, a 3-series competitor that I believe was sold only as a coupe, and a model which many have heard of yet forget about, the Chrysler TC, which was a Chrysler LeBaron with a shortened wheelbase whose VIN number started with "Z". This thing:

They only made them from 1989 to 1991 and general consensus is they sucked, but they were indeed probably the most popular pre-02 Maserati product. The vast majority were produced in either black or white. The official name of the vehicle was the Chrysler TC by Maserati, and it features Maserati badges in several locations (like that stupid window porthole). Alas, sales were trash and power was low, and they didn't last too long.

Yeah north Jersey. Around Paramus, about 45 min. from where I live.
And back to the topic... I didn't know Alfas were available in the U.S. that late. I always though they dropped out during the 80's.

Yeah I saw a bunch of those TC things on ebay...I searched for maserati and saw a bunch of chryslers i was like WTF? Did maserati [pre 2002] ever sell any real high end cars (because you said that the biturbos were to compete with the 3 series....the new coupes/spyders etc are like 3 times the relative price.....
