The CSX is an Acura version of the Civic. To make it more confusing, the Japanese Type R shares the CSX's body work. A slightly different trim, and a few more options are the only differences between the CSX and USDM Civic.

Let me step in and provide you with the correct information. .

The Acura truly is the first car in this new civic family tree. .

The jdm Corp specifically chose the csx as their basis for model growth due to acuras initial integration if stability and traction control.

Also there are quite a large number of exterior pieces of the jdm civic that will NOT simply mount onto ...

The civic is actuaally the Honda version of the acura ... the japanes type r has unique body work to it however the csx was chosen to be the representative of the 8th gen civic..

And there are more differences between the US civil andnthe csx than "some trim" and options

The Acura CSX replaced the EL in 2005, the same year the Civic was updated to the 8th generation. The CSX was an Canada-only car, released at the same time.

The main difference is that the CSX uses the 2.0 from the RSX, while the Civic uses a 1.4, making it easier to modify. However, the Jap Type R was discontinued in 2006, and there is no current Jap Type-R.

Quote:
Standard features on the touring model include 16-inch alloy wheels, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, side and curtain airbags, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, paddle shifters for automatic transmission models, heated door mirrors with integrated turn signals, 6-speaker audio system with CD/MP3/WMA capability, automatic climate control, cruise control, chrome door handles, and 60/40 split folding rear seats. Key additions in the Premium model included high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, power moonroof, and an in-dash 6 disc CD changer. The Navi model was only available as an upgrade to the Premium trim, adding a bilingual voice-activated navigation system, illuminated steering wheel controls, and a digital audio card reader. The navigation system and HID headlamps are among the features not available for Honda Civics sold in Canada.
It gets an Acura treatment to the interior on the civic - paddle shifters, and heated seats. The HID headlamps are the outside 'special features.'

Everything else you can get on the EX-L version of the civic. Including the stability control.

The CSX is a 2006 model, released in 2005. Same with the Civic.
