My desire for the uber sexy DB9 was instantly forgotten when I first heard the V8 Vantage on Top Gear.

God damn! That sound, plus it has the looks, grunt, manual tranny and presence. It seems ok for practicality too, compared to say, a Carrera.

If I were to have one Aston, the new AM V8 is the one for me. Wouldn't mind a 1970 AM V8 Vantage right next to it my my imaginary garage either.

^ What a thunderous roar that 5.3L V8 makes!

I totally agree. The AM V8 looks way better than the Vanquish, Vanquish S or DB9, I think it looks more sporty and less frumpy.
And all Aston Martins are beautifully made so they are way more special than a Porshce or an AMG...

I still think the DB9 looks better.....and Astons being much more special than Porsches, I totally agree!! porsche is lacking exclusivity IMO....I've seen a porsche nearly every Saturday night...

Obviously I'm in a minority in thinking that the AMV8 looks crud compared to the DB9. But I do. I'm not sure why, perhaps it's the slightly too-short rear or exaggerated grille at the front, but I much prefer the DB9's looks.

I think it looks like the DB9, but not in a bad way or anything. I like the V8 vantage, but I think I would still go for the 911 over the V8.

I think you just pinned down for me why I don't really like Aston Martins, for me they seem to have no character and I have no real interest in them
