Woooow, that's pretty sucky, even I have to admit. Though, one has to wonder, someone with a lead foot and a CTS-V is going to chew through most components pretty quickly.

That really sucks, but every company is going to have a lemon

People can have rotten honda's, so its not just GM for all the euro/asian snobs out there.

It's probably just an isolated incident. I'm sure this doesn't happen to every other CTS-V. Hell, it could've happened to an Audi or an Porsche as well.

True, not one company is perfect, I expect every car manufacturer to have at least 1 lemon car.....

I cannot say if this is true or not, but I heard that auto companies expect a 1-2% of their vehicles will be lemons, but most of these problems will be items fixed by dealerships, and the cost of the repairs is not as great as further quality controll...Just simple economics. The price of the repairs are passed on to the consumer in higher vehicle prices, while the savings help with benifits for the workers

Just shows that you can't go American if you want to buy a nice car. I would never buy a cts-v, E55 or M5 for me. Might be alot more expensive, but at least they work passed 12,000 miles.

That was the wrong thing to say...I worked in a repair shop, for over a year, specializing in exotics, but doing a lot of european imports. This also means that I had access to volumes more information about vehicle weaknesses than the average person. I could fill up this thread with horror stories about them. BMWs have great running gears, but the WORST wiring of all the european manufacturers.

He posted the vid on a cadillac forum also and the people there were worried about their resale value and what effect that video might have on them

Big deal. It's just one CTS-V. The driver probably just did something that made it screw up and it can't be blamed on GM until the problem can be traced back to them.
