Default Ford reveals 2010 Mustang emblem/Official 2010 Mustang Thread

well after seeing the new emblem and forgetting about the countdown site, i decided to post this thread. its to show the countdown site and show you new photos of the actual 2010 Mustang emblem which has been updated to look more modern than the old and decrepid one that needed to be put down.

now if any of you guys catch spy shots of the 2010 Mustang prototype before i do, by all means, post them in this thread. do aswell with the unveiling of the actual car.

Total improvement, it turns the whole thing around...

...just kidding. I'll be the first to admit I don't have a sharp eye for aesthetic details but you'd have to be a serious Mustang fan to spot this one.

New emblem looks much better and it will hopefully just mean that the facelift will be a successful operation. Only 83 days to go!

The colouring and generally more aggressive tone of the new emblem suggests what the rest of the car has in store.

If they keep the weight within reason, and don't go too overboard on trying to make it aggressive, it's gonna be a winner.

I had the Same thoughts that Corny had. It does show more aggression and I really like it. Can't wait for the rest of the car. I wonder being a 2010 model, how many HP the GT will have. It has to be close to the V8 Camaro.

I think the badge alone says alot,

I mean its darker, looks more aggresive than the current badge so I expect the new Mustang to really take it too the Challenger & Camaro .

So is the new model just a facelift or is it a complete overhaul ????

^ New model, as far as I know.

Let's hope it matches their million dollar badge design. Seriously. I want this to be good, and RHD, and sold here, like Ford AU keep saying it "might" be.

I don't think its going to be an all new car. I really think they are just freshening it up because it needs to compete with the Camaro in the looks department.

I believe that the underpinnings, power plant, and greenhouse stays the same.

its going to be a new model. from the spy shots i've seen, the front and rear fascia look VERY different compared to the current model.

the powerplant is suspected to change in the flavor of a new 5.0 powerplant. the 4.6 also has been suspected to get a 20-30hp bump.

also, here's a shot of what is said to be the production hood for the 2010 Mustang. notice the cowl induction design.....could this mean bigger engine? i sure f'ing hope so.

Elmo, I know what you are saying and you could be right, but just because the looks of the car change doesn't mean the actual car is new. The RX-8 just got a freshening and it looks very different from the past model, but is still the same car underneath.

Key point, look at the greenhouse of the cars in those photos and tell me they are different than that of a regular Mustang.

you can also say that about this model.....

those are 2 different generations of the Cavalier, but yet they have the same greenhouse. hell, if i remember correctly, i believe Ford has used the same greenhouse from the latter SN95 Mustang ('99-04) on the current Mustang.

EDIT: do you guys not like N*tCarShow or something?

I dont see why we need a new mustang when the old generations could do this to the police

Elmo, the Cavalier is the PERFECT example of what is happening here. It is an overall appearance update, however, its not a generational separation. Those 2 Cavis are still the same generation, but look a little different. Just like the 95-96 Eclipse looks slightly different than the 97-99 Eclipse even though they are the same gen.

And your comment on the green houses staying the same on the Mustang since 1999 is COMPLETELY wrong lol. But thats ok.
