2005 Pontiac GTO

The new Pontiac GTO comes with more power and style for 2005. A new 6-liter V8 engine replaces the 5.7-liter engine, bringing with it an increase in horsepower and torque. The 2005 GTO packs 400 horsepower, up from 350 and 546 Nm of torque, up from 495. Transmission choices are the same as the 2004 model’s, the 4-speed automatic is standard and the 6-speed manual is optional. More powerful engine should lower the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph to less than 5 seconds. Along with the power increase comes improved braking performance from larger brake rotors, calipers and pads. The calipers are painted red and the front calipers feature the GTO logo. A revised rear fascia incorporates a new dual-exhaust system, which splits the two outlets, routing them to opposite sides of the rear fascia. The exhaust tips are polished for a more refined appearance. Also available is a new hood design incorporating a pair of stylish air scoops.

Nice pics dude, I'm already a fan of the GTO and the fact that it's got the "true" dual pipes that everyone was complaining about is great! Not to mention the extra power never hurt either, sounds like the C6 Corvette engine is in it! I just think the new hood is stupid and Pontiac needs to get it through their heads that those stupid nostril hoods are ridiculous. If you want an old GTO hood scoop, then make it like that one, not like the dumb one's out nowadays. Also, just wondering if the price is the same as before??

They better.

Imagine 500hp, 500lbft, in black with "The Judge" written in old school lettering.. along with COOL wheels (the current ones blow IMO).

yes this new GTO is cool. man if they bring back the judge I hope it can compete with the vipers.

but IMO to do that a lighter curb weight would be really cool. if they do make a judge then I hope it is lighter.

I doubt they will make it as powerful as the Vette, probably really close though.

I think they might make it as powerful just w/o the handling of the vette like the muscle cars of old used to be

atleast its better tan the 2005
the car does not seem to hav tat powerful mean machine look to it according to me
