Jeez, it is soooooooo easy to bash American cars. Why are they so bad? What is wrong with the GTO? What did you expect from pontiac? a 800hp, twin turbo V-12 supercar named the GTO? If they gave you that you'd still complain anyways.

The GTO is faster than any GTO ever built, so I wouldn't call it slow or girly. And what can I say about the Dodge charger. It's not slow or girly. It's just not a charger.

Well, if the GTO came with 800 hp, no, I wouldn't complain. What did I expect from Pontiac? NOTHING! With 400 hp that car should be a heack of a lot faster, like running with the Corvette! It can't even touch the Vette! The GTO doesn't look like a sports car, it's a boat! It weighs over 3700 pounds! It's easy to bash American cars, because car companys like Mitsubishi, and Subaru, make 4 cylinder turbos that eat up our "Muscle Cars" with V8's! If it makes you feel better I like Vipers, and I grudgingly admit that I respect these newer Vettes. And as for the new Charger, please, you can't defend what Dodge plans to do with that car. It might be fast, but you can make ANY car fast.

Of course it's not as fast as a vette. Why would GM cut into the sales of the vette when they can reopen the muscle car market. And find me a picture of ANY stock GTO that looked like a sportscar and not a base Tempest or Le Mans. And why shouldn't the Charger be a sedan, the original Coronet was a sedan and that's what the Charger was based off of.

Ok, so the GTO looked like a sleek sedan that looks almost like a Grand Prix back in the day. Come on man. If you like it, cool, your entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. You can have that gas guzzling overweight and beefed up Grand Prix, which I might add sticks to the road with an amazing .88g!! I'll stick with my little 6 cylinder Porsches. To each his own. Fair?Oh, and I didn't mean to say that the GTO should be as fast as the Vette, I meant at least compete a little with it, which it can't. Except with which one gets worse gas mileage! just kidding

Ok, you're right. Everyone has their opinions. I just don't want you to jump to conclusions. It's one thing to say "I don't like this car", but it's another to say something like "I don't like this cars cause it's obviously going to handle bad, be a gas hog and it'll be cheap".

Not to be an ass or anything, but on paper, the new GTO and new 911 carrera get roughly the same fuel mileage. Just a little fact.

Of course they get about the same gas mileage, that's why I said just kidding. I know Porsche's don't get the greatest gas mileage. In this day and age, I believe that .88g on the skidpad sucks. It wouldn't suck so much if that car didn't weigh over 3700 pounds. So if I hurt anybodies feelings from saying that the new GTO is girly, I'm sorry. I will say though, that it is one fast Grand Prix.

In that case, that 911 is one fast Volkswagen. Hahaha.

You are absolutly right! My buddy at works actually goes as far to say that I have a pretty quick Beetle. All I ask him is isn't it embarrasing to get your ass kicked by a little Beetle? He has a stock 89 Camaro.

psh. Obviously he's got a way faster car there. Man, people like that give us American car enthusiasts a bad name. Not to put down your buddy or anything, but you get the point.

the 356 was a beetle though and the 912, 914 and 924 were all sold as VWs.

Where did you hear about the 356 being a beetle? The early years when Porsche borrowed some parts from VW, trying to make a "cheap" Porsche, and I heard that didn't last long. And as for the 912, it was a 911 body with the 4 cylinder 356 engine, which may have had SOME VW parts. The 914 was in replacement of the Karmann Ghia, they were Porsche's, using VW and Audi parts. At that time it was VW-Porsche, but Porsche bought the design from VW-Audi to "make them more Porsche." As for the 924 it had an Audi drivetrain, and a VW engine. The 924 was originally approved and was going to be used by Audi, but it's still a Porsche. The 924S was the 924 body, but now they used the 944 engine, which was definitely Porsche.

The 356 is just a hot beetle really, same block and such not. And thats some great information there but it doesn't change the fact the 912, 914 and 924 were all supposed to be marketed by VW

You are half right, and I'm half right. There was some sort of mandate in the 70's that it was VW-Porsche, that's one company. Now on your side, yes they did use some VW parts, on my side of it, they wore the Porsche badge, so officially they were Porsches. Unofficially, they were some badass Volkswagons!!! On a side note, what the hell does this have to do with a 1966 Charger anyway!!?? lol.
