This year I get my first car and drivers licence and need to start saving now if I plan to get a good one. I was thinking of a BMW 318i, I know there 4 cylinders but its a good reliable first car and it will be better than the old Holden’s and Ford's (and 1 240sx). Also I was thinking of a Ford Escort RS2000. Any help will be great! Also they have to be RWD or 4WD no FWD’s!
Also Year 10 and I am starting my TAFE Automotive Certificate I as a subject, soon I’m on my way to being a Mechanic, I'm planing on being a BMW Technician, $100 a hour? Yes please!

We can't tell you what acr to get. We don't know what you like. All I can say is get something that you are 100% happy with, be original, you will see that if you drive around in a unique car, people will notice you.
Off Topic: I am also in year 10, studying to be an architect (hopefully)

Are you talking about the BMW 318 E36? But I like the E36 it’s a nice reliable car
So go for it buy a red or a black but if you want a sheep car go for a Honda Civic Does a BMW Technician only earn $100 a hour hehe I did earn allot more as a flight mechanic but we are smarter then you ground diggers ![]()

RS1600s and Twin Cams were quicker than RS2000s but no BDA is ever gonna hang around. Whats your cash range?

$100AUD is 540SEK, and my price range is $15,000AUD ($11,622USD, £6,169GBP) give or take a thousand. And E36 is the one I want.

The E36 is a good choice if you ask me I think you should look for the 318ti Compact .but Look out for Glove box rattles that are common on pre-95 models.
You are living in a hot country so rust shouldn’t be a big problem like in northern Europe But I still earn more mate but after 8 years in aviation school i deserve allot.

Clio? What Clio?

What about a Focus? In the UK that money would buy you a mint 2.0i Zetec.

Clio? What Clio?

Ok, but in the UK if you have something with over 100bhp when you pass you're test then they charge you £2000 a year to insure the bloody thing. If you want performance, how does a 3000GT (GTO) Twin Turbo sound?

But after reading some classic car magazines you can buy things much quicker than GTOs with classics insurence.

and for Accelero, go for the E36 if you can, there is no way I could afford insurance on that, but if you can, do it!! |

Well...assuming your values down in AUS are similar to in the U.S. (which i don't know if they are...). If you look hard, you could probably find an older E36 M3, or a new E36 318. Also, check out the 944 Turbo or an old jag XJR or an old Z3. Of course, the E36 would have the best reliability.
