Camaro. No. They have been very competitive over the years. Even 99% of your 4th gen F-body guys will admit bang for buck the Mustang is damn hard to beat. Over-rated,..no. Its set records, and is completely and totally flexible. The other cars, the Corvette is not even the same class. The Mustang is coined as a pony car. The Corvette is a sportscar. As is the Dodge Viper. Now for significantly less amounts of cash, you can make a Mustang hammer both those cars in any venue you like. Whether it be road-racing, street, or strip. Mod for mod yes a vette will be faster than most Mustangs. Remember though,..a mustang has rear seats, no transaxle, and no IRS. Its also a fraction of cost. You have to weigh all those things out. A lot of people will claim to hate mustangs, usually based on a lot of people having them (lots of V6's folks), or on their appearance. However you will never hear anyone involved in any venue of racing call a Mustang overrated. They simply know better. Its the same way I would never say a Corvette is overrated. The corvette pulls off the same type of good stuff the mustang does. Just at a higher level. They're both tremendous values for what they compete against, and can do. Mustang is the poor boys, extremely effective racer. Corvette is a full step up. Ask how many vette owners have been pounded hard by a much cheaper, much less expensive Mustang and you'll know why they arent overrated.

For my personal belief in an overrated car, the Civic takes the cake. People preach these things and stand by them like they're some sort of automotive prodigy. Someone spends 80,000 dollars making one faster than a Viper and all of a sudden everyone thinks its a great platform. For uniqueness they had it right initially. Then the idiotic, bumbling, uneducated public takes that as a sign of these cars being the greatest thing ever. Now we have 10 million of these little, pathetic, highly underpowered and overrated cars running around on public roads with stupid wings, and hideous bodykits. Overrated? Damn right...

Hated. Skyline. Too many fanboys. Too many variations. End of story...

mustangs are great and all. but, versus a corvette, now, not ever. not if its an even playing feild.

what i eman be even playing field is either both are stock, or, both have the same amount of mula put into the car. so if the mustang has 5k, so does the corvette. and if you go like that, then corvette will awlays win.

now considering the corvette generally costs about 20 thousand dollars more, I understand what you mean by saying that the mustang is a great platform and all, considering, for the price of a corvette, thats 20 extra thousand you can put into your mustang.

but you have to consiider the fact that there are no v6 corvettes. no wannabe racers. no cheaper versions of the same thing. you got the corvette. and thats it.

it compete with supper cars that costs as much as 10 times its own price. mustangs dont do that.

and mustangs couldnt dream of doing that stock.

now, saleens, s7s, all that, they cost like 300 thousdand.

you mustangs fans like to rant about how good the s7 is. but, imagine putting a quater of a million dollars into a corvette. easily own any and everything, except a few, not all but a few, jet engine vehicles

If you mean same mod applied to the corvette, I would agree with anything but straight line performance. A Mustang will easilly catch up.

Like I said. Not really. There are far more effective parts focused on power gain for the Mustang than there are for the vette.

Yes. But to equal Vette performance in a straight line I can give you a 900 dollar recipe that will put a Fox well past a 04 Z06. the extra 20k isnt necessary. People have a warped perception that it takes that much money to make a Mustang competitive. End goal: 8 second street legal car.

Mustang has it over the vette hands down. No competition. One huge disadvantage the vette has is its road race inspired goodies.

There's the Base Vette, and the Z06. Base vettes arent really that fast man. Even the new one. I have video from the track this past weekend of a new C6 running. Low 13's isnt impressive out of a "Vette". Lets face it. Thats STi Territory, thats EVO territory, thats SLOWER than a factory 03/04 Cobra. Just food for thought. Just because you have a vette, doesnt mean you're the pimp shizzle.

You are obviously out of the loop and have been for some time. There are stangs that will certainly own a LOT of supercars in acceleration. Many that will thrash them in corners. But you're right, from the factory, nope. Doesnt mean in any way shape or form they're overrated. I find it comical that individuals open their pieholes but then wouldnt say crap to me on the street. I have credible witnesses that will tell you that thrashing Corvettes at the strip was commonplace for my previous car. In fact I had one very wise owner pull up next to me and rev his engine without realizing I was there. When he looked over my buddy asked if he wanted to run. Dont know if he knew my car or not, or maybe heard of it through rep, but he politely responded with "Nah man I ready fo that yet. Gimme a couple of months". So dont tell me it doesnt happen. Oh, and yeah. I would have destroyed him. 1990 GT Hatch. Nothing more then a cam, intake, full exhaust and some quality control arms. With factory heads even. So yeah, whatever. Its all about availability and bang for buck. Vette doesnt do it as well as the Stang. Sorry but thats the truth.

you know I even say that a F-body is close to a vette and I get hammered mean while they use the same parts.. Meanwhile, nobody touches mustang boy for calling out lamborghinis in his $12,000-14,000 from the factory car.

Meanwhile, from the same year im running a 20K sports car that is all vette parts and mines a piece of ****, im not liking this concept.

Well since I saw the list, i thought it was like "one make one word" answers..

And since it was mainly pointed towards Firebirds and Trans ams...It would have kinda gone astray...

Camaro's arn't nearly as bad on my list..

Not my fav cars..but 59082904839x better than a ugly *** ponti-yakk

Firebirds and Camaros are one in the same, especially the later models.. Body parts, engine parts, suspension all interchanges.. Except the camaro had a better suspension

thats the WS6 tho, yes thats gross. the normal LS1 Trans Am-s and Firebirds are accually pretty nice, or atleast i think so anyway.
