Default Mazda Mx-3 technical data

Hey guys!
I was at my Mazda mechanic some time ago and I found that he was using a BIG beautiful technical manual about Mx-3 V6. Because I can't seem to find very detailed information about this car on the net (and i mean really detailed :? ), I was wondering that maybe you know where I can buy something like this.
I am particularly interested in detailed engine graphs, diagrams and part descriptions.
Thanks for any help!

yeah this is really a nice car... Nothing is as smooth as V engines, it makes such a nice sound when idle, and when it reaches higher RPM's it is just like orchestra...
The only thing that bothers me is pretty low torque and power. Thougn it is naturally aspirated V6 it makes only 133 bhp with 157 Nm giving 60 miles theoretically in 8.5 seconds... It is becoming to slow for me but maybe one day I will make it faster.
200 bhp would be enough for this car

Are you sure the HP and Nm numbers are correct? This torque fits to a 1.6-1.8lt engine max. :?
How much is the displacement?

MX-3 V6, at most (if an MX-3 exists) it has an 1.8 l4, i think MX-5 is a Miata and it has an l4, the only V6 there is MX-6 (aka Ford Brobe) and it has a 170hp V6

Mx-3 has a V6 from K-series. This series includes 1.8 lt 133 bhp 157 NM engnine (K8 used exclusively in Mx-3), 2.0 lt 140 bhp 170 NM (KF used mostly in xedos 6 or 626 as i remember) and 2.5 lt 160 bhp above 200 NM (KL used in Mx-6).
The Mx-3 1.8 lt V6 is the smalles V6 made...Very nice engine

Yeah, This car wasn't too popular in USA, though it was quite succesful in Canada and Europe. In comparison to Civics, this care is really a rare one. This is good and at the same time bad... Good because you may consider yourself being an owner of a nice and rare coupe...Bad thing is that there are not many parts (of popular companies) for performance upgrades...and this is a baaaaaad thing

Was seraching the net and found this thread, i own an Mx-3, get get more information from www.mx-3.com, but ill point out a few things

The Mazda Mx-3 has 2 engine, i4 and v6, the RS version was equiped with and i4 @ 88hp 1.6l SOHC from 92-93 and was changed to a 1.6l DOHC i4 @ 105hp in 94 until it being discontinued in North America in 1996. The v6 is a 1.8l @ 130hp. The GS/V6 model was discontinued in teh US in 93-94, but was continued in Canada until the car's North American discontinuation in 1996.

I'm a v6'er and ill gve you a quit run down on engine swap, and they are just direct swaps,

Engine codes are are as follows:
first 2 letters denote the model, they are all K-series engine, so the first letter is the K, the higher the second letter, the more the displacement, the higher the second letter, numbers are lower than letters. The last 2 letters denote type, DE is north american, ZE is japanses. Mostly heads, runners, lifters and cams are different, so if you dont look at those, the engines can look identical. ZE's will always make more power than their DE version. However ZE's are higher compression @ 10:1 (with some rare exceptions) while the DE's are all 9.2:1, which makes teh DE's more turbo friendly. Note, these engines are are bolt-in swaps, the clutch may need to be upgraded due to more torque, but bolt in, upgrade the computer and/or vaf and your all set (they used vafs not mafs in the v6s).

-The stock 1.8l v6 is known at the K8, K8-DE is the norh american @ 130hp, K8-ZE is the japanses version @ 135hp, not a worthwhile swap
-You can swap in an KF-ZE, a 2.0L v6 @ 170hp, that engine must be imported from japan and parts can be hard to find
-There is also the KL-DE, the 2.5L v6 common in local Mazda 626, Mx-6, Millenias and Ford Probes (which is based off of the Mx-6). They produce 170hp and the best bang for the buck upgrade with parts easilly available. Being common, these engines are a dime a dozen and are the best bang for the buck for the Mx-3 upgrade.
-The upgrade i have is known as the KL-ZE, Also a 2.5L v6 but pumping out 200hp. A very saught after engine for all the Mazda 626, Mx-3, Mx-6, Millenia and Ford Probe tuners.
(on a side note, there is also an engine knows as the KJ-ZEM, which is a Miller Cycle 210hp 2.3l v6 supercharged only found in the Millenia and cannot be swapped into other vehicles due to the extra room needed for the supercharger)

BTW, if you want more power, the 4cyl mx-3 can be swapped for a 1.8L i4 "BP" engine,. That engine is VERY turbo friendly, but very hard to find engine, and can push upwards of 450hp. The BP is also an engine swap than can be done in Mazda Miatas since they both use the same "B-Series" 4cyl engines
