Default Handbrakes...

This may move to pointless section...
The point of this thread is to know whether is there any handbrakes underneath the roof top ?

So does any car its handbrake underneath the roof top and not the normal position ?

My friends said it...I don't...he is my classmate's friend...and my classmate said that his friend is kinda expert in cars...

wtf? When were handbrake handles on a rooftop! Dude, they're usually next to the shifter, not the rooftop. That handle on the rooftop is just for you to hold.....

He sounds like "kinda a dumbass" to me... Did he have a flashback on bad drugs to a former life as a PBY Catalina pilot? In the purely mechanical linage era; high wing aircraft had throttle/flap controls overhead, because it was simpler/less friction to do so.

In a car you would need meters of extra cable (and more friction) to operate a handbrake. Why would you want to do so?

I hate when people say things that confuse you so much you think that you have actually lost some brain cells.

I know utes and some of the older Fords have their handbrakes as levers that you pull out of the dash, but I seriously doubt a handbrake would be placed on the roof.

not to mention impractical in everyday driving... some "pick-ups" (sorry, i live in South Africa. we call them bakkies) have their handbrakes on the dash, sort of, below the stearig wheel... i dont really know why they did it that way, i think beacause of the seating arrangements(the older bakkies had a bench seat, accross the whole cab of the car)...

but enuf of that, that handbrake thing is rediculous...

our old falcon had three seats along the front and the handbrake was a pedal on the floor that you pushed in.

my dad's mercedes also has that, a lever next to the clutch that you push in to engage the handbrake and a lever on the dash to disengage it. but the lever is well enuf out of the way that you dont accidently push it, that could be bad, and embarrasing...

That's indeed mercedes' normal way of doing things differently.
Most mercedes cars after 1990 actually have these foot operated parking brakes.

Can be quite tricky stuff.

Apart from mercedes, only cars with automatic transmission and 3 seats front instead of the usual two have parking brakes on another location then besides the transmission.

aaaaaaaaaaaahahahhahaha... no words for that!!!!
The only place besides being next to the shifter that i know that usualy are also used is on the other side of the seat... for an example, Ferrari 348tb have the handbrake next to the door!!! (once again... hope you understand this)
